When does Beijing Chimonanthus praecox bloom?
Chimonanthus praecox likes sunshine, is resistant to shade, cold, drought and waterlogging. Chimonanthus praecox blooms proudly in frosty and snowy days, with yellow flowers like wax and fragrant smell. It is the main ornamental flower in winter. Afraid of wind and cold, it can safely overwinter when the temperature is not lower than-15℃. It can be cultivated in the open field in the south of Beijing, and the flowers will be frozen when the flowering period meets the low temperature of-10℃. It grows well on the slightly acidic sandy loam with deep, fertile and loose soil layer and good drainage, but it grows poorly on the saline-alkali soil.
Strong drought tolerance and fear of waterlogging, so it is not suitable for planting in low-lying areas. Trees have strong growth potential, vigorous branches and easy roots to sprout. Resistant to pruning and easy to shape. Flowers bloom first and then leaves, and the flowering period is 165438+ 10 to March of the following year, and it matures in July and August.
Beijing Botanical Garden Sleeping Buddha Temple
Enter the south gate of Beijing Botanical Garden, go straight along the central axis and find the reclining Buddha Temple. There are about 60 wintersweet plants in the temple, which are distributed in every corner of the temple, especially in front of the mountain gate. Imagine, with the morning bell and the dusk drum, the ancient Buddha with green lanterns, the appreciation of Chimonanthus praecox itself adds a bit of detachment. On the east side of Tianwang Temple, there is also a cluster of ancient Chimonanthus praecox, which is said to have been planted during the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty and is called "the crown of Beijing Chimonanthus praecox". But now there are only tree buds, all in infancy. According to Chen Yu, a staff member of Beijing Botanical Garden, due to the lack of rain this winter, the buds of Chimonanthus praecox have been affected to some extent, and it will take several days to see the Millennium Chimonanthus praecox in full bloom.
The Summer Palace
Le Nong Xuan has plum fragrance.
Le Nong Xuan is a group of agricultural buildings in the Summer Palace, and it is also the style of the house where the Western Empress Dowager once lived during her escape in Gengzi. After returning from the funeral, he was invited to the Summer Palace. Now more than a dozen wintersweet plants are planted here. Although the number is small, they all gather together and cling to the dry branches. As the weather is still cold, most of them are still in bud. However, it is expected to open one after another after this weekend. By that time, the residual snow behind the mountain had not melted, but this Le Nong Xuan was already a fragrant and golden world. Presumably, anyone who passes by here must have entered because of the fragrance of wintersweet.
Grand view garden; Grand view garden; Zhanwang garden
Red heart wintersweet is more fragrant.
Cui Qi in Beijing Grand View Garden is not far from the west gate. According to A Dream of Red Mansions, this is Miaoyu's residence and the only temple attraction in the garden. There are flaming fireflies and cigarettes curled up in the North House Buddhist Temple and the East House Buddhist Temple. On the west side in front of Beiwu Buddhist Temple, there are several Chimonanthus praecox with yellow plum blossoms. It is said that the wintersweet here is called "Red Heart wintersweet". Its petals are a little sharper than Su Xin Chimonanthus praecox, its stamens are a little reddish with purple, and its aroma seems to be better, which is worth savoring.
Zhongshan park
Some trees and plums in Fang Hui Garden
You don't have to go far to enjoy wintersweet. There is one in Zhongshan Park near Tiananmen Square. After entering from the south gate, walk to the northwest, and you can come to Fang Hui Garden, where many wintersweet are planted. When you first enter the park, you will feel the faint fragrance, but when the surrounding vegetation withers, several wintersweet flowers growing on pale branches have already ushered in beautiful blooming, with a lavender halo in the yellow petals. At the same time, these wintersweet tree in Zhongshan Park are not big, so they are more suitable for photographers who like to play macro.
Fragrant Hills Park
Wendaomeila Tibetan deep ditch
As we all know, there is a "Meigou" on the Hunan side of Xiangshan Park glasses. In previous years, every time it bloomed, you could smell the fragrance dozens of meters away. Although 30 or 40 different varieties of Chimonanthus praecox are mostly in bud shape this year, it is expected that tender yellow flowers will bloom in a week or so. In fact, most people who come to Xiangshan now are middle-aged and elderly people. In addition to climbing mountains, we might as well take a walk in this "plum ditch" that has been built for more than ten years, look at the freshly baked wintersweet and wait for the first-class plum blossoms, which can be described as fitness and plum appreciation.
