Limitations of computer processing of photographic works
Like a traditional camera, taking a digital photo is very simple, just press the shutter and click. But it is not so easy to take a good photo. The birth of an excellent digital photo often needs to meet the conditions of good illumination, correct exposure, the most appropriate resolution, good framing and accurate focus. According to the characteristics of digital cameras, we should pay attention to the following aspects if we want to take good digital photos and create satisfactory digital video works.
(1) Pay attention to setting the camera parameters before shooting.
Most digital cameras provide various settings in the settings menu. Including image resolution, focusing mode, aperture, shutter and other items, of which the most commonly used is image resolution. Many cameras offer multiple resolution options. For example, Agfa 1280 has five settings, namely 1280 960, 1024 768Hi, 1024 768, 640 480Hi and 640 480. Most cameras have default settings. If you don't use the camera for a period of time, such as 30 minutes, the default settings will take effect automatically when you restart. Therefore, before each shooting, especially after replacing the battery, it is necessary to re-check the camera's setting menu and confirm the resolution and aperture settings, otherwise it is very likely that the photos taken will not achieve the expected results.
(2) Try to shoot at the highest resolution.
When using a digital camera, the photos processed have only a very limited resolution-so do high-end cameras, not to mention low-end cameras. In low-end digital cameras, the resolution of photos ranges from 640x480 to 800x600dpi. This is not a very high resolution compared with traditional cameras. But compared with the graphic resolution of PC, it is already very good. In fact, most web images are smaller than 640x480dpi. If measured by this standard, the resolution of digital cameras is still very good. However, regardless of the function of the digital camera, the resolution that can be achieved is still limited.
Therefore, obtaining the highest possible definition is the key to take digital photos. For traditional cameras, the main consideration when shooting is to get a good perspective and construct a good picture. If a digital camera is to shoot a typical photographic work, all the basic photographic principles are applicable. However, if you only shoot a single object, such as a watch or a mobile phone, the criteria for framing and adding sports can be ignored. At this time, try to fill the object in the frame, even if the photo composition is poor, it doesn't matter, just use the maximum resolution on the subject.
In other words, if you take a picture of a person, you must include the surrounding scenery in the frame to balance the person and the scenery. Traditional photography has many composition principles. But for digital photography, it is often to take photos including scenes, and then cut off the redundant parts when editing. This means that we should oppose the golden rule of conventional photography and try our best to fill the whole picture with only the desired images. So, if you want to take a picture of your home computer, you just need to put the computer in the scene frame and cut it out in the picture processing software. This is to maximize the resolution of the main computer of the picture.
(3) Correct use of lighting conditions
Most digital cameras can only take pictures in perfect lighting conditions. Before taking pictures, you must find the best lighting conditions. Conventional film is also affected by light, but the hue and color quality of photography based on film make it less dependent on light conditions. Digital cameras rely entirely on light. If the illumination in the shooting range of a digital camera is too strong, it will produce a banded effect, which is difficult to correct without a lot of careful adjustment work. On the other hand, because CCD has a certain sensitivity threshold, if the light is dark and cannot reach the required minimum illumination, digital photos will be seriously damaged. Even if the light is a little small, it can obviously reduce the clarity of the photo. Due to the limitation of the effective distance of the flash, even if the flash is used, the lighting conditions in the shadow area or at night may still be insufficient for the digital camera. Using more sensitive CCD chip is an effective way to reduce the limitation of lighting conditions of digital cameras. Another factor of digital photography is that some types of lighting have different effects on different cameras, which is also true for conventional photography. But the key point is that some lighting conditions have different effects on digital cameras and conventional cameras, which requires experiments. Fluorescent lighting will cause brightness and color problems; For the best results, you can use news lights to shoot TV. The experiment shows that in a shooting cycle, tungsten lamp in the photography room is used for digital shooting, and then the photos are observed on the computer. Surprisingly, when the light is directed at the lens (not from the back), orange is obviously added to the photo.
For low-end digital cameras, natural light is really the best. You can also use desk lamps and camera lamps, but you need to control the lights to be direct, because the low resolution of light and camera will offset the efforts to obtain excellent and continuous tones. In order to make the best use of sunshine without taking pictures outdoors, you can set up a table with a white poster board as the background and put it next to the window to receive as much sunshine as possible in one day. At present, sunlight completely or partially covered by clouds is the best light source for digital cameras.
(4) Use the flash carefully
Many digital cameras have built-in flash. There are usually four settings: flash, no flash, red-eye flash and automatic flash. The last one is to let the camera decide whether it needs extra light. In many cases, the flash may destroy a perfect photo, or make mistakes that will be hard to clear in the future.
For digital cameras used by fools, most automatic flashes occur in cloudy weather. You can get better results by turning off the flash and then increasing the exposure. Flash is not as easy to control as exposure, and the light emitted by flash is easily reflected by nearby objects, forming an uneven halo in the photo. Therefore, please turn off the flash as much as possible when taking pictures on cloudy days or at dusk or sunset (or under other unsatisfactory lighting conditions). The infrared light emitted by the flash will affect the image, because the image is processed by the CCD chip. For example, when recording, the red area may turn green. When shooting indoors, you should provide enough lighting to get photos without flash, or see if photos without flash are satisfactory. To see the difference, you can take two photos of the same object, one with a flash and the other without. Maybe it's best not to use the flash. You can learn the skill of taking pictures without a flash, but at this time you need other light sources to fill the light.
(5) Adjustment of color temperature
Friends who are familiar with traditional photography know that color film can be divided into daylight type and illumination type, in order to adapt to different light source environments. The color temperature of solar greenhouse is 5000K, and the color temperature of halogen quartz lamp is 3200K K. ..
Digital camera can't change film, so it adopts white balance adjustment, which is carried out manually and automatically at the same time. Manual adjustment is flexible and can create unexpected artistic effects, but it is not so simple and difficult to master. Automatic adjustment can ensure that the shooting effect will not be greatly deviated, but it is difficult to create special artistic effects. For example, shooting with sunlight film and using 3200K quartz lamp as light source can create a warm atmosphere, and the skin color is yellow and red, which is a very common method in wedding photography. However, shooting with a digital camera and automatically adjusting the white balance are not as obvious as traditional cameras, but the shooting effect is also very good. The same lighting, the same model position, and different color backgrounds will make the model's skin color different. Different digital cameras have great differences in shooting, so users must experiment and explore the adjustment of white balance according to different shooting environments and different digital cameras, so as to know fairly well.
(6) Download the photos to the computer hard disk for observation, selection and storage.
Digital cameras generally have liquid crystal display (LCD), which is a particularly useful function, but we can't completely rely on it. Most LCD screens are backlit, and the photos displayed on them may be much better than those displayed on the computer, especially in saturated and bright areas. LCD is best used only for locating images, such as browsing images or index images. In short, it is suitable for simple viewing. It is worth reminding that the image effect on the LCD screen does not represent the final photo. Thumbnails do not always reflect the real situation of the generated photos. Moreover, a photo that doesn't look good in the case of thumbnails is likely to have some interesting or useful parts. Before deleting photos, please download all the images in the camera to the hard disk and observe them from the hard disk before deciding which photos to delete. After plugging in the cable, turn on the computer and run the software to download the photos. There are several ways to do it according to the different software that comes with the camera. Not all cameras use the same software or driver, so it is difficult to give a specific method here. Generally speaking, most downloaded software will display a series of thumbnails representing the images stored in the camera. Then you can choose the photos you want to download from the camera. After opening a set of images with a camera, you can modify them and save them in a file, or you can save them as they are and modify them later. Many downloaded software can modify photos in many ways, but not all packages provide the same number of modification options. So it may be more meaningful to download the image directly to the hard disk and modify it later. This is usually the best way to download and save images as they are. Because I don't know when to process these original images. Download and save the original image before making any changes. You can save a group of originals, and then take out copies for modification and creative production.
(7) modify the original image
First, check the image. For each picture, do a visual inspection and maybe write some notes, as a picky person usually does. Is this image too big, too dark, too bright or too fuzzy? After picking out the faults, we use the image processing software package to carry out systematic work, improve the final image and correct one problem after another. Of course, not every photo needs so much work. However, almost every photo needs some effects to be as good as possible. Various experiments can be carried out until a satisfactory image is obtained and then saved.
Master the use of image processing software packages (such as Photoshop, UleadImpact, Photo-Deluxe, etc.). ). Then consider what to do next. For example, don't use a wide range of effective settings and don't make too many changes; Do only a few small gradients (increase or decrease) at a time, preview the effect first, slowly reach the best setting, and then confirm to save.
(8) Digital creative application
The second processing of digital photos is the real pleasure of digital photography. Be sure to do something about the photos you have taken. This is not as plain as I thought. Different from film photography, digital photography can change images and provide new ways to use them. The most common occasion for cinematography is to put photos into photo frames, photo albums or make slides. Digital photographic works can be deformed, spliced, shaded, brightened and collaged. Make full use of these possible functions. This is the advantage of buying a digital camera.
When taking pictures with a digital camera, we should give full consideration to achieving the ideal effect. For example, if you want to create a striking but simple photo, it is most important to pay attention to all aspects of the photo. However, if you plan to create an interesting photo puzzle or cut a theme, you should fill the frame with the image you want to take, no matter how bad the photo itself looks. If we want to create an artistic image with printmaking significance, we need to maximize the photos in order to extract line drawings from them. This may mean using a background and different lighting. In fact, the combination of digital camera and image processing has opened up so many interesting possibilities that we should learn how to create the best synergy between the photos to be taken and the final results to be achieved.
