On Tolerance of Photography

Tolerance is related to photosensitive elements and imaging media, and the technical scope is limited.

Any camera (no matter how high-end) will inevitably encounter the exposure latitude problem in Gao Fancha.

The best solution is not to change the camera.

1, with auxiliary equipment:

Gradient gray-scale mirror has always been the best weapon for photographers to solve the brightness difference between Gao Fancha, especially between the sky and the ground. It can adjust the contrast of bright and dark parts to ensure the details of the scene.

2. Use bracketing exposure:

That is to say, the same picture is exposed to three or more different degrees. In this way, first, you can choose the compromise picture with the most details and the best performance; Second, you can get the best highlights and dark details through software synthesis.

3. Store photos in lossless format:

If you have high requirements for photos, you can save them in lossless format and keep more details. The JPG format we usually use is a typical compression format, which will discard a lot of image information. However, if you use the Raw format, it will retain the original image information and light and dark details, leaving a lot of room for your post-processing, and you can get a high-tolerance picture with it.
