Two Generations-Twenty Years of Contemporary Art in China is a roving exhibition and cultural exchange project of Red Gate Gallery 20 12, which will be unveiled by Ms. Clover Moore, Mayor of Sydney. With the announcement of the most representative Red Gate Gallery in Beijing, a national art exhibition entitled "Experience China-Australia China Culture Year" will be held in Australia, and Australian audiences will have a visual feast.

The Red Gate Gallery, run by Australian Brown Wallace, was founded in 199 1. It is the only contemporary art gallery with the deepest qualifications in China and is highly respected by the industry. Hongmen Gallery, located in Dongbianmen Corner, has been regarded as a pioneer in the industry since its opening. It promotes the active posture of China contemporary art on the international stage.

The "Two Generations" will exhibit the works of 65,438+065,438+0 senior artists of Hongmen, and will also include the works of young emerging artists appreciated and nominated by these artists respectively. The works of two generations will be put together at the same time, showing the achievements of the previous generation of artists and revealing the future of the later generation. In this eclectic and meaningful exhibition, we will see works of different styles and media such as paintings, paper works, photography, sculptures and installations, which will fully reflect the dynamic and developing contemporary pluralistic art.

While touring the exhibition, we will invite "two generations" artists to attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition, and during the exhibition, we will participate in public forums and "artist's residence" projects arranged by our cooperative organizations and educational institutions.

With the assistance of Australian Copyright Agency Limited, we will invite some young China curators to manage each exhibition with Catherine kroll. These curators will be introduced to gallery directors, well-known or emerging non-indigenous artists and Australian indigenous artists. In this way, these curators will have the opportunity to hold an exhibition about Australian artists and a residence plan for Australian artists in China in the near future.
