In short, Jin Yong's martial arts novels have experienced three versions: the old version, the new version and the new revision. The manuscripts from 1955 to 1972 were called old editions, which were mainly published in newspapers and periodicals, and there were also many singles without copyright, and now they may have been lost. From 197, Jin Yong began to revise all his works, and all of them were revised in 198. It was a new edition and was named "Collection of Jin Yong's Works". In 1999, Jin Yong resumed the revision work, and it was renamed as the new revision (or the new revision of the century). So far, all the new revisions have been completed and published.
with each revision, the plot has changed. The details and ending of the newly revised version of the story have also changed slightly, attracting a lot of repercussions. At present, the publishing of the three places on both sides of the Taiwan Straits is authorized by Guangzhou Publishing House, Huacheng Publishing House (published in November 22 to replace the original Sanlian Bookstore), Yuanliu Publishing House in Taiwan Province and Minghe Publishing House in Hong Kong.
English translation
The Book of Swords & Revenge is the first martial arts novel written by Jin Yong in 1955, and its English version is entitled The Book &; The Sword (Hong Kong Oxford University Press), the Chinese version is two volumes, and the English version is translated into one volume. The translator Graham Earnshaw is the editor-in-chief of the English magazine. He spent ten years translating this book, and finally it was edited by the famous sinologist John Minford and his wife. When the Hong Kong media reported this news, it was a big flaw that they didn't ask the reviewers, because this is the key to ensuring the quality of this book.
Minford once translated a full set of A Dream of Red Mansions with his teacher David Hawks, which is regarded as the best English translation of A Dream of Red Mansions. Minford also co-translated two chapters of The Duke Of Mount Deer with Hawkes in his early years (published in cooperation with Mr. Cha's going to Australia to attend the Writers' Festival in 1994), and later taught as a professor and director of translation studies in the Translation Department of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. During this period, he organized the translation of three volumes of English version of The Duke Of Mount Deer (Chinese version is five volumes, English version is a condensed version), and published the first volume in 1999, which was published in 22. At present, there are not many English versions of Jin Yong's martial arts novels, including Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain published by The Chinese University of Hong Kong Press in 1993.
Martial arts novels are close to eastern culture, so they are particularly popular in Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia. Western readers have a process of accepting martial arts novels. However, Jin Yong's novels have been gradually accepted by western readers in recent years. Jin Yong's French translation "The Legend of the Condor Heroes" was published in Paris last year. It is basically a full translation, and the publisher is Youfeng Bookstore. Mr. Pan Lihui, the owner of the bookstore, said about ten years ago that he would publish a standardized French version of Jin Yong's martial arts novels. In his early years, he read the French version of Jin Yong's martial arts novels in Phnom Penh (because Cambodia was ruled by France for a long time, Cambodians knew a lot of French), and the translation was vulgar and ungrammatical. Five years ago, Mr. Pan came to Hong Kong specially and asked me to introduce Mr. Jin Yong, and personally expressed his determination to translate his works into French. Because the French don't know much about Jin Yong's martial arts novels, Mr. Pan dare not expect anything rashly. He specially applied to the French Ministry of Culture and Education for a publishing fund in advance, and then asked a French translator to translate it. In the meantime, it took about five years to finally successfully publish the French version of The Legend of the Condor Heroes. After the book was published, it quickly won the commendation from French President Jacques Chirac and the French Ministry of Culture and Education. It is said that Chirac and French government officials all praised it after reading it.
readers in southeast Asia have been attracted by Jin Yong's works as far back as the 197s. Vietnamese, Thai, Indonesian, Cambodian, Malay and other languages have been published in this region. In 1995, the simplified Chinese version of Star and Horse was published, and the other languages were pirated and widely circulated. The Korean version of Jin Yong's martial arts novels became popular in the late 198s, and twelve Korean publishing houses pirated all Jin Yong's martial arts novels. It was not until last year that Jin Yong officially authorized the Korean publishing house to publish his foreign language works.
The Japanese version of Jin Yong's novels is published by the largest German-German publishing house in Japan. I accompanied Mr. Jin Yong to Japan to sign a contract in April 1996. Mr. Yasuyoshi Tokuma, the owner of the German-German Publishing House, owns a comprehensive enterprise including film, publishing, newspapers and so on. At that time, they decided to spend huge sums of money to publish the Complete Works of Jin Yong and organized a group of sinologists in Japan to translate them. The first Japanese library version of Shu Jian En Qiu Lu was published in 1996, and then the complete Japanese versions of Jin Yong's novels were published one after another, and have been reprinted many times.
Xia Weiming, an Israeli sinologist, said at the International Symposium on Jin Yong's Novels in Taipei in 1998 that since the publication of Jin Yong's works in Israeli, Israeli college students have enjoyed reading Jin Yong's martial arts novels.
There is no doubt that Jin Yong's martial arts novels are going to the world and are more and more welcomed by foreign readers.

was plagiarized by others
In the 198s, some people wrote works such as Prequel to the Condor and Prequel to the Condor under the pseudonym of Yong Gong, which were very similar to Jin Yong's works in both packaging and printing. It still exists in some bookstores that rent and sell old novels in Hong Kong. In Chinese mainland, there are similar plagiarized works, not only with similar titles, but also with authors similar to Jin Yong, such as "Quan Yong", "Jin Kang", "Jin Yongxin" and "Gao Yong".

[ Edit this paragraph] Study on Jin Yong's novels
Due to the popularity of Jin Yong's novels, many writers started to write thoughts and book reviews, so the word "Jin Xue" came into being. However, Jin Yong himself is a little resistant to this name, thinking that he is suspected of studying a dream of red mansions. Nowadays, most of them are collectively referred to as "Jin Yong's novel research".
Ni Kuang was the first person to study Jin Yong's novels. When Taiwan Province Yuanjing obtained the copyright of Jin Yong's novels, he published a series of "Jin Xue Research Series" edited by Shen Dengen, and his famous writers commented on Jin Yong's novels respectively. There are five episodes of hundred schools of thought's Seeing Jin Yong (San Mao, Dong Qianli, Luo Longzhi, Lin Yanni, Weng Lingwen, Du Nan Fa, etc.), Yang Xing 'an's Random Talk about the World Written by Jin Yong and Continued Talk about the World Written by Jin Yong, Wen Rui 'an's Talk about the legendary swordsman, Analysis of Flying Foxes and Duckling Knives in Snow Mountain, Appreciation of Eight Dragons, and Exploration of Love and Carving of Gods. Talking about Jin Yong (Pan Guosen) and Reading Jin Yong All Night (Xue Xingguo), among which I read Jin Yong's novels written by Ni Kuang was very popular, and it didn't come to an end until the fifth reading. During this period, Boyi and Bright Window also published a series of books about Jin Yong by celebrities. At that time, Wu Aiyi, who was the supervisor of Ming Pao, also wrote Men in Jin Yong's Novels, Jin Yong's Novels Looking at Life, Women in Jin Yong's Novels and Love in Jin Yong's Novels, and Yang Xing 'an's The World Written by Jin Yong. When Jin Yong's novels were officially authorized to be published in the Mainland, the study of Jin Yong's novels became more lively, including novel content, characters, historical background, martial arts moves and diet recipes. Among them, comparing the differences between different versions is the focus of the study. At present, only Chen Mo and Pan Guosen still often comment on Jin Yong's novels. Jin Yong
