Does death ray kill people?
Scientists have confirmed that it has nothing to do with aurora, but it is also an abnormal weather phenomenon. Due to the low density and low water content of clouds over the polar regions, the ability to absorb sunlight is weak, so when the sunlight there shines on the snow-covered ground through the gloomy sky, the light reflects back and forth between the snow and the low clouds, resulting in a kaleidoscope-like "lens tube effect". After many reflections from the "lens barrel", the brightness tends to be uniform everywhere. When the density of clouds is directly proportional to the intensity of solar radiation, the sky, the ground, the ocean and the surrounding snow and ice all reach the same brightness, which will make people lose their sense of direction.
Death rays often appear at noon, which will suddenly "disappear" the surrounding landscape. No matter the distant ocean, iceberg, or the nearby coast, snowfields, tents and flags, they are all gone, dazzling everywhere, as if falling into a huge "milk bottle". Even experienced polar explorers are doomed to death, especially those who run at high speed.
