In order to encourage his son to continue his efforts, Mr. Guo Moruo bought Guo Bo a full set of oil paints, and his mother Guo Anna also squeezed some money out of her living expenses to buy her son a Kodak camera. Since then, painting and photography have become Guo Bo's two major hobbies. Learning photography and painting costs a lot of money. At that time, the economy of Guo Moruo and his wife was very difficult, and sometimes even the life of the whole family was difficult to maintain. Therefore, parents suggested that Guo Bo could only choose one of painting and photography for the time being. Guo Bo was very sensible since he was a child. He followed his parents' advice and chose to study painting. Reluctantly, he kept his interest in photography in his heart.

Guo Bo was smart and studious since childhood. After finishing primary school one year ahead of schedule, he was admitted to middle school with excellent results. In middle school, Guo Bo graduated one year ahead of schedule and was admitted to Kyoto University with excellent results. Kyoto University is a famous university and has won five Nobel Prizes. At the age of 2 1, Guo Bo graduated with honors from the Department of Architecture. Young Guo Bo participated in the architectural design of many large factories in Japan, especially the famous Toshiba Company in Japan.
