Xuwen county Museum was founded in 1983. In 2002, it chose Guisheng Road to build a new museum. The newly-built museum covers an area of 3,500 square meters, with a building area of 2,400 square meters, and has a two-story imitation lattice structure. The newly-built museum is welcoming tourists from all directions with a brand-new look.

Xuwen county Museum is like a materialized history. People can talk about cultural relics and history here, cross the barrier of time and space and overlook the ups and downs of Xuwen's history.

There are 7 exhibition halls, 1 cultural relics warehouse, 1 cultural relics studio, reception room and office in the museum. After the completion of the new museum, exhibitions such as beautiful homeland-xuwen county Achievements in Reform and Opening-up, Xuwen Customs Photography Exhibition, Qiongchao Ancient Harbor, North-South Wind-Xuwen Maritime Silk Road Cultural Relics Exhibition and Xuwen Ancient Monument Exhibition were held.

There are 308 cultural relics in the museum, including 5 second-class cultural relics and 50 third-class cultural relics. 560 reference cultural relics specimens. More than 100 cultural relics illustrations and rubbings were exhibited in the exhibition. Among them, the fourth and fifth exhibition halls show exquisite cultural relics related to the Maritime Silk Road in Han Dynasty and Sui and Tang Dynasties. The fourth exhibition hall of the museum is mainly composed of cultural relics from the Han Dynasty.
