Where is Xiamen?

The southeast end of Fujian Province. According to official website, the Xiamen Municipal People's Government, Xiamen, referred to as Xiamen or Heron for short, is located at the southeast end of Fujian Province, bordering Zhangzhou in the west, Quanzhou in the north and Jinmen and Dadan Island across the sea in the southeast. Xiamen, with coastal plains, plateaus and hills as its main landforms, belongs to the south subtropical maritime monsoon climate, which is mild and rainy. By 2022, the total area of Xiamen will be 1700.6 1 km2. Xiamen Island was the habitat of egrets in ancient times, so it was also called "Egret Island". Tongan County was established in the Western Jin Dynasty, and Xiamen City was established in the twenty-seventh year of Ming Hongwu (1394), 1935.
