Pull out one white hair and grow nine? talk nonsense

Many people are said by word of mouth that "one white hair grows nine", so they are worried about the proliferation of white hair. The doctor pointed out that long white hair is related to the pigment in the hair follicle, so "pulling out one white hair will grow nine hairs" is sheer nonsense. But remind people that if hair is pulled out frequently, hair follicles may be chronically inflamed, leading to hair loss.

White hair is not a disease, but it may cause chronic inflammation of hair follicles and lead to hair loss if it is pulled out frequently. (Photography/Huang Zhiwen) The decrease of melanocytes in hair follicles leads to white hair.

Dr. Huang Yuhui, Secretary-General of Taiwan Province Dermatology Medical Association and Department of Dermatology of Taipei Chang Gung Hospital, pointed out that the older a person is, the less melanocytes in hair follicles degenerate, and it is easy to grow white hair, which is caused by the reduced ability to produce melanin.

However, the failure of hair follicle melanocytes to function is not necessarily directly related to age. Some people have white hair when they are young, so-called "juvenile white", but some people still have black hair when they are 50 or 60 years old. Therefore, the formation of white hair may be related to the excessive consumption of melanocytes in hair follicles.

In addition, patients with immune diseases (such as leukoplakia) and congenital diseases (such as albinism) will grow white hair. This kind of disease will attack the melanocytes in the skin, make the skin white, and then destroy the hair follicles, so no matter how long it is, it can only grow white hair.

It won't hurt hair follicles more and more, which may cause hair loss.

Although white hair will not be pulled out more and more, it is still not recommended to pull out white hair directly to avoid permanent damage to hair follicles, which will reduce the chances and speed of new hair growth, and the surrounding healthy hair follicles will be easily damaged, so the melanin production of hair will also slow down, and finally other hair will either turn white or deteriorate.

In diet, kelp can be properly supplemented, because kelp is rich in iodine, calcium, sulfur, iron, vitamin B, vitamin C, protein and other substances, which has a health care effect on hair growth, moisturizing and blackening. However, it should be noted that the seasonings of marinated kelp in the market are all re-adjusted, so you should also pay attention when ingesting, and don't eat too much salt to avoid causing a burden on your body.
