VRay setting method affecting brightness parameters
Global lighting environment parameters When we set 1 and 0, its brightness changes little in this scene. When we set it to 0, it means that there is no light in this scene.
So the lights in 3DMax turned us off,
When it doesn't have any lights, it will be enabled automatically, so the scene doesn't change much, so now we set the global lighting environment a little bigger and set it to 3. Let's render it again.
When we set it to 3, you can see that the scene starts to light up, and you can see the family model inside, but it is still not enough. We set this parameter larger, and we will set it to 8 to render it again.
When we set it to 8, we will find that the scene is bright, that is to say, when there is no light, the increase of this ambient light will gradually brighten the scene, so we will keep the ambient light in this place at 8.
Then let's adjust the color map. We just used reinhard. Now let's add multiplication.
Let's copy a rendering and compare it.
You will find that obviously, when we set the multiplier to 1.2, the scene is obviously bright. If we use other renderers, such as exponential or linear multipliers, then we increase its dark multiplier.
The overall brightness will be improved, which tells us that there is another way to improve the brightness by adjusting its multiplication or dark multiplication and bright multiplication.
We know that multiplication will affect the brightness of the scene, so we set it to a reasonable value. Let's compare 1.4.
When we set it to 1.4, the brightness in the scene really improves a lot, so we keep the parameter 1.4 unchanged, let's upgrade other parameters.
Let's set GI. By default, we set the first bounce multiplication of GI as 1 and the second bounce multiplication as 0.8.
Let's play it up,
As you can see, when the secondary rebound multiplier is set to 0.8, the scene is obviously dim, so the rebound in the scene is not sufficient after we set this value smaller, and at this time we are increasing.
We can find that this scene is brighter now because we have added multiplication and rebounded more fully, so this scene will be brighter.
Then in our practical application, the multiplication coefficient of the first rebound and the second rebound should not be too large. Generally, in our practical application, the multiplication of the first rebound keeps 1 unchanged by default, while the multiplication of the second rebound is mainly to make it less than 1. This makes the light rebound in the scene less full, which is more conducive to expressing the shadow details of the object.
So I suggest that you set the multiple of the second rebound between 0.8 and 0.95 in practical application. What is said here is the effect of our test without any light. You will find that our scene is not so active and the light is not so full without any lighting.
Then let's continue to explain how to brighten the scene by lighting. Let's restore the ambient light to 1.
We mainly rely on other lights for lighting. Lighting is used for lighting, and these parameters we just set are just the finishing touch, so we should make good use of them.
There are no lights in the scene. Let's add some light to it. T enter the top view. We chose VRay light as the light in the creation panel and dome as the type.
First, we create a dome light to simulate ambient light. The dome was also explained when the lamp was explained earlier. We set the height of the overhead light.
We set the height higher, and then we set its color and magnification. Because we use the ceiling lamp to simulate the skylight, we set its magnification lower 1.2, and then set the color to light blue.
After setting, we will enter the perspective view and then look at the scene.
L entering the left view is convenient for us to fill the light.
We set a sunlight on the window to simulate sunlight.
Shine in through the window,
Here pops up a question whether to automatically add VR sky environment map. We click Yes, and we adjust the angle setting of VR sun better, because we say that the angle of sunlight has a great influence on its brightness, so we must adjust its angle appropriately.
Then t enters the top view and fine-tunes its direction and position.
F enters the front view,
Then l enters the left view. Let's have a look.
After we observe and adjust the position, we set the sunlight, because our angle is basically the morning light angle, so we will keep the turbidity unchanged by default, including ozone.
Multiplication Because we use the camera that comes with 3DMax, we should set the multiplication smaller and consider the actual situation.
First of all, there are few dark furniture with small windows in this scene, so it should be considered that if we want to illuminate this scene, we must improve the brightness of the light coming in from the outside when the windows are small.
In addition, the material of our scene itself is relatively bright, so don't adjust it too much when adjusting it. If it is too big, the effect will be bad.
After adjustment, enter the camera view. Let's render it.
Obviously, now that the scene is exposed, let's set the intensity multiplication to 0.03 and have a look again.
You will find that the brightness in the scene is still not enough, so we will analyze it accurately, and you will find that there is enough light where the sun shines. It just means that the scene is dark, which means that the ambient light should be increased.
Let's set the ambient light to 3, let's render it again,
We found that the brightness in the scene has improved, but it is still not enough. We should continue to improve the ambient light and choose all the filters.
We raised the ambient light to 6, and we are rendering it.
When polishing the renderings, you need to keep typing and testing to get good results. We found that the brightness is getting brighter. If we can't achieve the effect by increasing the ambient light of this scene,
We can add two surface lights to the window as supplementary light sources of skylight, and then we will get a very good effect.
So much for setting the parameters that affect brightness in VRay. I hope the above content can help you. If you have any other questions about using the VRay renderer, you can take a look at these VRay tutorials and click this link:
