Comfort

Comfort (April 19, 1916 - June 26, 2015), male, formerly known as Shu Changge, was born in Cixi, Zhejiang. Zhizhi dropped out of college. After 1938, he worked as an actor and director at the Blue Bird Theater Company, Shanghai Datong Film Studio, and Venus Film Company. After 1952, he served as an actor and director of Shanghai Film Studio, and a director of the third and fourth sessions of the China Film Association. He has starred in "Lin Chong" and "Spring and Autumn on the Water", and became a household name for his role as Zhang Lingfu in "Red Sun". He has directed films such as "The End of the Green Sea".

On June 26, 2015, Comfort passed away at the age of 99.

Personal experience

When he was six or seven years old, he followed his father Shu Houde (Shu Shifu) moved to Shanghai.

Entered Fudan University at the age of 19, and later transferred to the Law Department of Chizhi University. When he was a student, he loved Peking opera, drama and classical literature.

After the fall of Shanghai, Comfort joined the Jade Bird Theater Company and performed in the plays "Thunderstorm", "Sunrise", "The City That Never Sleeps" and "Thunderstorm". When performing officially, he borrowed his father's pen name "Comfortable".

After 1942, he starred in films such as "Angel in White" and "Spring and Autumn in the Silver Sea" in film companies such as China United Film Company and China Film Company.

In 1946, at the invitation of the Hong Kong Greater China Film Company, he starred in "Sauvignon Blanc" with Zhou Xuan; in "A Dream of Spring" with Hu Die; and also filmed "Six Chapters of a Floating Life" and "Weak, Your Name is woman".

By 1948, Comfort had played major roles in 42 films in Shanghai and Hong Kong. Among the influential works are "Sauvignon Blanc", "A Dream of Spring", "Six Chapters of a Floating Life", "Weak One, Your Name is Woman", "Secret History of the Qing Palace", etc. At the same time, he also wrote and directed the films "The End of the World" and "Paradise for Children", and directed the films "Mother", "Song of Autumn", "Butterfly Dream", etc.

After the birth of New China, Comfort and Enthusiasm traveled from Hong Kong to Guangzhou to express condolences to the People's Liberation Army.

In 1952, he returned to Shanghai comfortably and worked as an actor and director.

Since the autumn of 1952, Comfort has appeared in films such as "The Feathered Letter", "For Peace", "Li Shizhen", "Love and Friendship", "Spring and Autumn on the Water", "Lin Chong", and "Red Sun" played an important role. Among them, in "Lin Chong" filmed by Jiangnan Film Studio in 1958, he not only served as the director, but also played the protagonist Lin Chong. Shu Chun's accurate use of eyesight and skill in performance made the image of this ancient hero fully fleshed out and profoundly complete. This can be said to be a major gain in his exploration of nationalization in performance, and is one of the classic characters that Shu Shu has always created. A masterpiece.

In 1959, he supported the work of Zhejiang Film Studio and served as the leader of the director team.

In 1959, he returned to the Shanghai Film Studio and starred in "Spring and Autumn on the Water".

After directing "The Fighting Village", in 1961, Shu Xun played the role of Zhang Lingfu, the Chinese Communist Party commander in "Red Sun". (This character is known as one of the "Three Villains" in the contemporary film world.)

From "Lin Chong" to "Red Sun", it marks that the artistic level of Comfort has reached the level of proficiency. Comfortable and healthy, after "Red Sun", he directed several films and many episodes of TV series.

For more than 40 years, he has written film scripts such as "The End of the World", "The Flower Girl", "Eight Treasures Map", etc.; he has directed "Paradise for Children", "Gods, Ghosts and Humans", " "Battle Village", "End of the Green Sea", "Two Pearls", "Sword", and "Dragon Girl" and other films, and has played different roles in more than 60 films.

Comfort is the third and fourth director of the China Film Association, and the fifth honorary director.

Personal life

In 1942, Comfort married the popular movie star Murong Wan'er.

In 1975, Comfort and Phoenix came together, and they lived happily in their later years.
