Please have a look, heroes. This bracelet is a birthday present from my wife. It costs more than 2000 yuan. When I bought it, I said it was lobular rosewood. Is it true?/You don't say. Is it worth that much money? Identification method of lobular rosewood (sandalwood rosewood);

One: Take a piece of wood and put it in the water. If it is sandalwood, it will sink in the water. If you sink into the water, continue to the next step.

Second, take a piece of wood and draw it on white paper. If it is sandalwood rosewood, there will be purple scratches. Draw with the same strength the second time and the third time ... until the scratch fades away; If there are scratches, continue to the next step.

3. Take sawdust and put it in a glass filled with clear water (the ratio of sawdust to water: the volume ratio is about 1: 3- 1: 10). If it is sandalwood rosewood, the top layer of water (visual effect: the top layer of water and glass wall are the most obvious) will show blue oily fluorescence after 25 hours. If there is fluorescence, proceed to the next step.

Step 4, observe the color of the sawdust water leaching solution in the previous step. If it is sandalwood, it is purplish red (the depth of color is closely related to the position of the material, the amount of water and the length of soaking time); If it is not purple, proceed to the next step.

Five: Look at the distribution of tube holes on the cross section. If it is sandalwood rosewood, the diameter of the inner tube hole of the whole growth ring is slightly equal and the distribution is more uniform; The cross section can be cut with a sharp knife, and it is best not to retract the knife. When you look at it, you can apply some water, and it is best to observe it with a magnifying glass more than ten times. If the distribution is uneven or bad, confirm to continue to the next step.

Six: Look at the annual rings. Observe the annual rings on the cross section, if it is sandalwood rosewood, the annual rings are not obvious; If the growth ring is not obvious or uncertain, continue to the following four steps.

Seven: Look at the color of the board. If it is sandalwood rosewood, the new section is orange-red, and it is dark purple or dark purple for a long time, often with light color and purple-black stripes.

Eight: smell the aroma. If sandalwood rosewood rubs against an object, it will have a very weak fragrance (like sandalwood, but it is not the same as the incense we smell in our daily life), and it will be very fragrant when filing with a file or sawing with a table.

Nine: Look at the texture. If it is sandalwood rosewood, the texture is staggered and some parts are curly.

Ten: Look at the oil texture. If it is sandalwood, it has an oily texture; If you can continue to the next step through these four steps.

Eleven: the cross section is enlarged by 30 times. This is the last step of personal identification. Among the three sections of wood, the transverse section provides the most abundant information. It is necessary to carefully observe the cross-section characteristics and compare them with the descriptions and pictures in the national standard "Redwood". If it is sandalwood rosewood, it is consistent (if there is no condition, this step can be omitted). If you can go through the above eleven steps, you can be sure that this kind of wood is sandalwood rosewood. If any of these steps are obviously inconsistent, you can be sure that it is not sandalwood rosewood. If in doubt, samples (mahjong size) can be sent to relevant departments (such as China Academy of Forestry) for wood variety identification.
