There are two means of expression in TV camera art: technical means and artistic means. The expression means of camera technology: including camera, optical lens, sports camera tools, lighting equipment, exposure control, filter, video tape, etc. Means of artistic expression of photography: It is basically the same as the means of artistic expression of cinematography, but there are obvious differences in the technical means and technological process used in film and television. The former uses films and cameras to record images, while the latter uses magnetic materials and cameras to record images; But from the perspective of artistic expression language, there are many similarities. As a modern science and technology culture, film and television is a comprehensive art composed of two basic elements: audio and video. Whether it is film photography or TV camera shooting, it is to transform objective scenery into visible images (images) and sublimate them into artistic images with aesthetic value. So they are interlinked in modeling language and expression. The main artistic expression means used by TV cameras are light, color, optical lens, sports photography and picture composition.

There are three tasks accomplished by means of light: (1) illuminating the subject and completing the camera exposure task. Light is the material basis of photography. Without light, there is no photography. (2) Complete the modeling performance of the subject: express the three-dimensional form, spatial form, texture, outline and color of the subject, highlight the image of the subject and express the concept of time; (3) Depicting the characters' personalities, revealing the fate of the characters and depicting the environmental atmosphere, and expressing the emotions of the characters and photographers with various light effects.

Color means refers to the tone processing and color configuration of the picture by photographers and cameramen. Color, like light, is also an important expression element for photographers and photographers. The tone of TV pictures sometimes requires objective reproduction, and sometimes it permeates the photographer's subjective consciousness to play the role of color expression. For example, dark and cool colors are often associated with depression, sadness, pain and sadness; Warm and bright colors are usually associated with excitement, joy, celebration and happiness. Photographers and cameramen can use different colors to express different characters' emotions and environmental atmosphere.

Optical means refers to the use of optical lenses by photographers and photographers. In photography, optical lens is not only a technical tool for focusing imaging, but also an important modeling means. Lenses with different focal lengths and different depths of field have different modeling characteristics. Using these different modeling features, different creative tasks can be completed. For example, the long focal length lens has the characteristics of small depth of field, compressed space and large image, and can be used for long-distance shooting and candid shooting, which can not only achieve the effect of blurring the environment and highlighting the main body, but also obtain the artistic effect of crowding and shielding. Short-focus (wide-angle) lenses are exaggerated and distorted, and photographers sometimes use them to vilify people or enhance the vastness of the environment.

Motion refers to photography and camera shooting moving scenes to create specific visual effects. The most prominent feature of sports photography is that it can continuously change scenes, angles and scenes in one shot, thus forming a multi-composition picture effect. It can often bring the audience into the plot and create an immersive feeling.

The means of composition expression is to consciously arrange and lay out the subject in the lens picture, handle the harmonious relationship between the subject, companion and background, and make the subject form a beautiful formal picture through framing. So as to make the narrative more accurate, vivid and vivid, and give the audience beautiful visual enjoyment. In this respect, the composition of film and television photography is the same as that of photo photography, such as shooting perspective, panorama and fixed the picture; But it also has its own special way of handling it. The above four means and components will be described in chapters.
