Diffusion method of creative thinking

The diffusion method of creative thinking is a commonly used creative thinking method, which diffuses something from the aspects of matter, function, structure, characteristics, methods, combination, cause and effect, words and so on, thus producing more creative ideas.

Material diffusion

Take an article as the material, as a diffusion point, and imagine its various uses. For example, tell the purpose of paper clips: to make paper or documents into hair clips.

Functional diffusion

Take the function of something as the diffusion point, and imagine the possibilities of obtaining this function. For example, how to achieve the purpose of lighting; Stop light, turn on the light and light the ignition handle.

Structural diffusion

Take the structure of something as the diffusion point and imagine the possibilities of using the structure. For example, talk as much as possible about things with circular structures; Sun, cups, plates.

Characteristic diffusion

Take the characteristics of things as the diffusion point, and imagine the possibilities of using a certain characteristic. What can you do if you use red? No traffic signal, red inkpad.

Method diffusion

Take a certain method that people solve problems or make goods as the diffusion point, and imagine the possibilities of using this method. If blowing can do anything, it can solve the problem: blowing balloons, blowing candles and whistling.

Combined diffusion

Starting from one thing, take this as the diffusion point, and imagine as much as possible the possibility of connecting with another thing to become a new thing. For example, say as many things as possible that keys can be combined: they can be combined with knives, nail clippers and small scissors.

Causal diffusion

Imagine the cause of this result or the possible result of this reason according to the result of the development of something and the diffusion point of the cause. For example, guess the cause of broken glass; I missed and was blown to the ground by the wind. Smashed by something
