This is Yu Tingzhi, the queen of Yujiaqiao's noble family. His father, Yu Wenzhou, was a county magistrate in Changle County, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. He is honest and upright in his official career, with remarkable achievements and won the love of the people. After his death, it was listed as a famous official temple in Changle, Fujian. Yu Tingzhi, the eldest son of Yu Wenzhou, was very clever since he was a child. In the 28th year of Wanli (1600), Miao Changqi was on the same list, but he didn't want to be an official. On the contrary, he likes to collect paintings, calligraphy and strange stones. He is also a vegetarian. In middle age, Zizhu Temple and Guandi Temple were built in the east of Shunhu Bridge, and bamboo and Buddhist temples were built in Junshan, Jiangyin, to cultivate one's self-cultivation.

Yu Tingzhi was having lunch when he heard the villagers say that a monk was wandering by the bridge and refused to leave for a long time. Knowing that something must have happened, he left work and followed the villagers to see the fat monk.

Yu Tingzhi chatted with the fat monk for a while and learned that the fat monk turned out to be a high-ranking monk in Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou. Because Lingyin Temple is going to build a Buddhist temple for the living Buddha, the abbot sent eight disciples to Jiangyin to raise money for the new temple.

Yu Tingzhi was a little surprised to hear that. He asked, "Why did you come to Jiangyin to raise money to build a living Buddha temple?"

The monk told a very strange story.

It is said that there is a mute monk named Dai Dingguang in Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou. His task is to clean the Buddhist temple every day. Once, when he was cleaning, he accidentally met an arhat, and arhat immediately moved to let him clean. Dai Dingguang felt strange, so he touched other arhats with his hand. When he met one, arhat gave way to one. After Dai Dingguang swept the Buddhist temple, Lohan returned to the Buddha's position one by one. The abbot was very surprised when he found out. One night, the abbot had a dream and saw Guanyin Bodhisattva floating in the air. He said to him, "Although Dai Dingguang is sweeping monk, he is a living Buddha in the flesh, and a Buddhist temple should be built for him." Then he drifted away. The abbot decided to build a living Buddha hall for Dai Dingguang. Because Dai Dingguang is a native of Dongxiang, Jiangyin, the abbot sent eight disciples to Dai Dingguang's hometown to raise money.

Yu Tingzhi was fascinated and asked, "What did you see just now? Why haven't you left for a long time? "

The fat monk pointed to the slowly flowing Taiqinghe River and a tributary and said, This is the land of living dragons, where is the dragon head, where is the dragon body, and here is the dragon tail. Coincidentally, a little dragon was born alive, very naughty and often got into trouble. As long as its tail is thrown, the Taiqinghe River will flood, and you will suffer from floods here.

Yu Tingzhi was associated with the floods that often happened before, and he was convinced of the fat monk's words. He asked the fat monk if there was any solution. The fat monk looked around carefully and said, "Try to hold that little dragon and don't let its tail swing!" " "

The villagers on the side asked the fat monk, "Master, please help. We will build a living Buddha hall for Lingyin Temple."

The fat monk led everyone into Guandi Temple, dug a hole in a yard and said, "We are going to plant a tree here."

"What kind of tree to plant?"

"Ginkgo tree!"

So the next spring, Yu Tingzhi led the villagers to plant a ginkgo tree in the courtyard of Guandi Temple. ......

Third, golden thunder breaks ginkgo biloba.

After the villagers planted ginkgo trees under the leadership of Yu Tingzhi, Yujiaqiao was really peaceful, with a bumper harvest of rice and wheat every year and people living and working in peace and contentment. Many villagers went to Lingyin Temple in Hangzhou to burn incense and worship Buddha. In Lingyin Temple, they saw the newly-built "Living Buddha Hall" and heard more magical stories.

On the day when the new Buddhist temple was completed, all the monks in the temple came to pay homage and found that both sides of the Buddhist temple were covered with Buddha statues, but the big position in the middle was empty. A monk asked the abbot, "Why is there no statue in the middle?"

The abbot said, "That's for the living Buddha in the flesh."

At this moment, Dai Dingguang, who stood by, suddenly floated up, slowly landed in the middle of the Buddha's position and stopped moving. After a flash of golden light, he became a living Buddha.

Believers who went to Jiangyin burned incense and kowtowed in front of the living Buddha, begging him to bless the people in his hometown.

Day after day, year after year, the ginkgo tree kept growing taller, and by the early Qing Dynasty, it was already a leafy tree.

In the midsummer of a year, the weather is particularly sultry. In the afternoon, it suddenly became cloudy, just like at night. Soon, thunder rumbled and lightning was like a sword. It was a rare and strange weather. Suddenly, there was a loud noise overhead and a muffled thunder fell to the ground. I saw a golden thunder hitting the ginkgo tree. The west side of ginkgo tree was cut off by golden thunder, and the leaves of the whole tree were burnt. The ginkgo tree, which was originally flourishing, became bare and looked lifeless.

People look at ginkgo trees that have been struck by lightning. Some people speculate that there must be a big snake in the tree hole, and it was Lei Gong and Lei Po who killed people. It is also said that Xiaolong told this story in front of the Dragon King, and the old Dragon King invited Duke and Lady Lei to help him cut down the ginkgo tree that was pressed on Xiaolong. There are many kinds of sayings.

But the villagers firmly believe that the ginkgo tree planted by the fat monk in Lingyin Temple will not die, so the villagers Qi Xin joined forces to dig a ditch around the tree, put in a lot of fertilizer, and took care of it all the time, watering it in the morning and evening. After a season of persistence, a miracle happened. New leaves grew on bare trunks and branches, and soon the ginkgo tree recovered to its original state and grew into a lush tree! Since then, this ginkgo tree has become a well-known "holy tree" with the function of bringing back the dead. Many ordinary people come to the tree from afar to pray for their families and the protection of the "holy tree"!

Since then, "Ginkgo Tree" has been burning incense continuously. ......

Frying the leaves in soup can also stop abdominal pain and itchy skin. But the locals never pick leaves, in order to make Dalbergia grow well.

In the 60th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong (1796), the people of the Yu family rebuilt the Guandi Temple, and specially asked craftsmen to carve four words with square bricks: "Old Tree and New Palace" and embed ginkgo trees in the courtyard gate. 1972, reconstruction of Yuqiao Primary School.
