How to set the parameters of SLR portrait shooting?

First, the aperture priority mode is generally suitable for portrait shooting. The so-called aperture priority mode means that among the three supporting items of aperture, speed and sensitivity, the setting of aperture size is determined first, and then a set of parameters of speed and sensitivity are "configured" by the camera according to the shooting occasion, which is actually a "semi-automatic mode" (the following speed priority and sensitivity priority modes are also semi-automatic modes).

Second, when you start learning, you should use automatic mode (P-file shooting). The study of photography is not about the use of parameters such as aperture and speed at the beginning, but about composition and light consumption. So you can put the aperture and speed aside at first and focus on composition and light-consuming practice. At this time, the automatic mode (some called P file, some called A file) can help a lot.

Although the picture taken by this mode lacks certain personality and specialty, it is much better to be able to shoot at first than not to shoot at all. Actually, it is a very economical and practical idea.

Third, the speed priority mode should be used when the lighting conditions are poor. This shooting mode is to ensure the speed first, and then the camera will configure you with a parameter of aperture and sensitivity. The setting of speed varies from person to person. Generally, the recommended speed is not lower than1100 seconds. With the improvement of shooting stability and the needs of the scene, the speed can be gradually reduced to 1/80 or even 1/60 seconds in the future. Generally, the stability of novice hand-held shooting is poor, so in practical use, the speed can be set at 1/200 seconds.

Fourth, it is not suitable for novices to set foot in manual mode (M file) shooting. There are very few novices, and I heard that most of the competent experts shoot with manual files (M files). He is interested in becoming a master, just like everyone else, so he practiced shooting with a manual gear from the beginning. According to most people's experience, this method and path of learning photography is wrong and "very wrong".
