Fuxian Lake is located in Chengjiang City, Yunnan Province, 52km away from Kunming and 1722.5m above sea level. At the same time, it is also the clearest and cleanest lake in Yunnan, with water quality reaching Class I, that is, it can be directly drunk.

Fuxian Lake is a scenic spot in Yunnan today. In order to ensure the water quality, tourists have been forbidden to swim in the water, but in the past, it was once a sacred place for many divers. During a dive, he found the ruins of ancient buildings underwater, which reminded him of a local mysterious legend that there was an ancient city at the bottom of Fuxian Lake.

Some experts speculate that this site may be the capital of ancient Yunnan or the county seat of Guyuyuan. As for Yu Yuancheng, according to historical records, in 16 BC, the Western Han Dynasty named Chengjiang as Yuyuan County, but later, Guyuyuan County suddenly disappeared. Since then, there is no historical record. No one knows when and how it disappeared. However, there is a legend among local people that there is an ancient city under Fuxian Lake, and "Yuyuan ancient city and people have sunk to the bottom of the lake".

Only later, it was found that the scale of the site at the bottom of the lake was several times larger than that of the general counties in Han Dynasty, and the building structure was mainly stone, while the building of Yuyuancheng should be wooden, so some experts speculated that it should be the capital of ancient Yunnan, not Guyu Yuancheng.
