Brief introduction of Beijing reclining Buddha Temple 2020

The reclining Buddha Temple in Beijing not only has a very long history, but also the surrounding natural environment protection is in place. The whole temple gives people a sense of peace and tranquility, which greatly improves your body and mind. This is a good place for outdoor travel.

The reclining Buddha Temple is now in Beijing Botanical Garden. Go in from the south gate of the Botanical Garden and go straight north along the road to the end. This archway is far from the entrance of the reclining Buddha Temple.

This archway is very similar to that of Xiangshan Temple. This is Xing Xingmen. There are four pillars and towering columns on the third floor. But the towering columns here are decorated with glass. On the forehead of the memorial archway, it is written that wisdom and light are heavy. Buddhism says that Buddha has four kinds of wisdom, that is, Buddha has wisdom and light; Lang city suddenly enlightened, fully aware of it. In other words, when you get here, you will be suddenly enlightened and illuminated by the Buddha's light.

This archway faces south, and there is a house on the east side, which is a restaurant specializing in housekeeping. Later, parks and ancient buildings were not allowed to cook with fire, so he bought several rice cookers and cooked jiaozi noodles for tourists. I have eaten both housekeeping dishes and jiaozi noodles cooked by his family, which are the kind of park dishes that can be seen everywhere. Behind the restaurant is the tomb of Sun mentioned just now.

There is a path in the northwest of the archway, and you can go to a famous place in Beijing, namely Cherry Valley. At the end of the cherry ditch, a glimpse of the mountain spring. In the past, the old man filled the mountain spring water here with various coke bottles and mineral water buckets every day, saying that it was a cure for all diseases. Later, for a period of time, the spring water became thinner and thinner, and soon it suddenly gushed out.

The water poured back by the old man looked a little turbid, thinking that the mountain spring would be turbid when it rained, but the result was still a bit awkward. The next day, when the old man went to irrigate again, the nearby staff told him not to irrigate. It is the reclaimed water in the park, and it is the reclaimed water after the toilet is purified.

On the way to Yingtaogou, there is a garden outside the back wall of the reclining Buddha Temple, called Jixiu Garden. There are pools, verandahs and halls in the garden, and all kinds of instant noodles and sausages are sold in the hall. There is also a loudspeaker playing Buddhist songs in the garden, and there is a cycle of "Mom doesn't feel" in the lyrics.

There are the most abundant magnolia trees in the courtyards on both sides of Guang Zhi Surfing Arcade, and people who love flowers will come to watch them every spring in bloom. An iron fence has been installed at the end of the road. It is open from 7 am to 5 pm every day, and you can't visit the reclining Buddha Temple at other times.

There is also a glazed archway outside the entrance of the reclining Buddha Temple.

This archway is the same as the glazed archway in front of Zhao Temple in Xiangshan Park and the wisdom sea of Wanshou Mountain in the Summer Palace. Here, the plaque on the front of the memorial archway reads "Share secrets with participants".

With the reference, * * * has the reference; The secret collection can only understand the unspeakable Buddhism. The plaque on the back of the memorial archway reads "Be strict with your feet", followed by a positive statement. We should not only study, but also be rigorous and strive for perfection. It was written by Qianlong.

It is the mountain gate behind the glazed archway. The "Shifang Pujue Temple" on the plaque was originally inscribed by Yongzheng, and the plaque was destroyed by the war. This one was later rebuilt and inscribed by Zhao Puchu.

The ten aspects of Buddhism are north and south, east and west, life and death of heaven and earth, past and future. Universal awareness, of course, means that everyone is aware, not just knowing the world, you know me.

In addition to the release pond, there are several blooming wintersweet trees outside the mountain gate.

The reclining Buddha Temple was founded in the Zhenguan period of the Tang Dynasty. At that time, it was called Doulv Temple, also called Shouan Temple. There is a reclining Buddha statue carved in ebony in the reclining Buddha hall. At that time, the temple was originally small in scale, but it was basically destroyed during the Southern Song Dynasty when the war was still raging. In the Yuan Dynasty, it was rebuilt on the basis of the original Doulv Temple.

Rebuild the reclining Buddha Hall and recast the bronze reclining Buddha statue. The Ming Dynasty was the most prosperous period of the reclining Buddha Temple, and Ming Xianzong also allocated several hectares of land for temple production. Every year, some whole grains and red and white radishes are planted in the temple. Although making wine is not enough, it is more than enough for people to chew.

By the end of the Ming Dynasty and the beginning of the Qing Dynasty, the world was in chaos, terracotta warriors and horses were rampant, the reclining Buddha temple was destroyed, the incense was extinguished, and the Buddha was gone. Until the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty, a Yi prince, Yun Xiang, invested in rebuilding the reclining Buddha Temple. After the repair, Yong Zhengdi came for a walk and wrote many words, including the plaque of "Shifang Pujue Temple".

Later, Emperor Qianlong followed in his father's footsteps. It is estimated that the glazed archway outside the mountain gate was built by Emperor Qianlong. Otherwise, how can it be the same as the glazed archway on the top of Zhao Temple in Xiangshan and the Summer Palace he built?

When building the glass archway, the temple gate extends from the mountain gate to the glass archway, and the mountain gate and the release pool in front become the temple building together. And the Bell and Drum Tower is built outside the mountain gate, and those wintersweet tree are around it. Look at the roof of the bell tower.

Different from other temples, there are side doors on both sides of the mountain gate of the reclining Buddha Temple.

The king's temple in the mountain gate.

As usual, there is a statue of Maitreya Buddha in Tianwang Temple, with four heavenly kings on both sides and Wei Tuo behind him.

There is a platform leading to the main hall behind the King's Temple. The entrance and the front King's Temple are all grey tiles resting on the top of the mountain, while the King's Temple is glazed tile-roofed, with carved beams and painted buildings, wooden arches under the eaves and seven-ridged beasts on the roof. The specifications are quite high. This should be rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty.

Sitting on a three-foot pedestal, there is a platform without railings in front, which is five rooms wide and three rooms deep. It is the largest building in the temple. However, it has no eaves gallery, and the plaque at the main entrance reads "Sara appeasement", which was inscribed by Yongzheng.

There used to be a Pharaoh named Ramses II in Egypt. Whenever he sees a beautiful temple, he replaces all the statues of Pharaoh in the temple with his own. Our emperor Qianlong also has this hobby. Wherever he went, he changed the original inscription into his own.

I can't go to the reclining Buddha temple. Yong Zhengdi has few inscriptions. Here is the title. Ganlong can't be so rude. He can't cut down the plaque of his statue and burn it, can he? Sara refers to the place of Sakyamuni _, which means that there is a reclining Buddha statue in this temple; Sui: profound; Situation: situation.

The couplets on both sides of the main entrance were written by Qianlong, but the words here are from Pu Jie. The first part is "the empty color of bamboo and yellow flowers in Zen forest", and the second part is "the wonderful and solemn Sanskrit of Baolou".

This hall is dedicated to Buddha III, so it is also called Buddha III Hall. Buddhism is chaotic in time and space, and three Buddhas are arranged in space; There are also longitudinal III Buddhas in chronological order. This temple is dedicated to Buddha Heng III, namely, Chinese Buddha Sakyamuni, Eastern Buddha pharmacist and Western Buddha Amitabha. Only Siddhartha Gautama in the middle can be seen in the above picture.

There are eighteen arhats clay sculptures on both sides of the Buddha statue; On the back of the shrine are Guanyin statues of Qianfo Mountain and Nanhai, also known as Island Guanyin. When the dispute in the South China Sea was fierce, a Chinese aunt pointedly pointed out: The South China Sea must belong to China, otherwise where does Guanyin live in the South China Sea? Aunt may have no culture, but her reason is simple.

As usual, there will be turtles carrying the imperial tablet on both sides of the platform in front of the Ursa Major Hall. There is a story in the Tang Dynasty. In ancient times, there was a monk who fasted and recited Buddha, dug a pool and let him go. It was quite natural. One day, a Buddhist was robbed. The man was rowing south with his followers, and the boat capsized in a strong wind. Suddenly, a huge turtle appeared and took all the people to the other side. When I landed, the monk called me Amitabha, and the tortoise said to me, I am the old tortoise in the releasing pond in your temple.

Since then, there has been the custom of making tortoise-back stone tablets. It is also said that this turtle is the ninth son of the East China Sea Dragon King, named _ _, which is pronounced as "maid's knee". Why I came out to carry the plaque is unknown. Don't tell me, there is a release pond in front of this hall. I saw a turtle lying on the ground by the pond. Some tourists said that someone had released the turtle. The monk sweeping the floor came over, turned it over with a broom and said, it's freezing.

Directly in front of the gate is the melting pot of this temple. Casting is quite exquisite, not produced in Qing dynasty? With the name of the temple on it.

The faucet on the stove leg is very beautiful.

Little lions on the fireplace are very rare. The lucky part of the little lion was tasted by tourists, and the patina on the surface had fallen off, revealing the original golden color of bronze.

Wan Ziwen handle.

Behind the Hall of Great Heroes is the most famous reclining Buddha Hall in this temple. The building form of the reclining Buddha Hall is the same as that of the Ursa Major Hall. It's also on a three-foot pedestal. There is also a platform without railings in front, and there are two emperors' tablets on both sides below the platform.

Above the main hall, there is also a glazed tile resting on the top of the mountain, but there are only five-ridged beasts on the ridge, and the width is only three.

The plaque says "The moon is always bright". Sex refers to Buddha's nature, and Buddha's light is like moonlight, which is always bright. On both sides of the couplet, the first couplet is "send bodhi heart to print all blessings" and the second couplet is "live with all sentient beings"

There is a horizontal plaque hanging in front of the temple, which says "free". Buddhism says that the greatest freedom is nirvana. These are all written by Cixi.

The statue in the temple depicts the nirvana of Sakyamuni. In the middle is Sakyamuni Buddha lying on his side, with his left hand lying flat on his leg and his right hand holding his head.

Behind the reclining Buddha is a clay sculpture painted twelve-round Buddha statue with a sad expression. The atmosphere in the temple is very bleak. This is the scene of Sakyamuni _ telling the twelve disciples about the funeral under the Miluo tree.

There was a man in the history of Sakyamuni, probably contemporary with Confucius. It is said that he was born in 566 BC, in the kingdom of Goose Carp on the southern slope of the Himalayas.

In the Tang Dynasty, it was called Tianzhu Country, which was located in the central and western Nepal, covering an area of 2,600 square kilometers, one sixth of that of Beijing. Modern archaeology in this place has made some discoveries, that is to say, some ancient pottery has been unearthed.

At that time, there was no concept of a country at all. Even the three villages in the records were called countries, but tribes were more appropriate. Sakyamuni is the surname of the tribe, and Muny means Sanskrit sage. Buddha also has its own common name. According to various Buddhist records, when the Buddha was 80 years old, he told his disciples that he would become a Buddha in three months.

When the time came, he asked his disciples to lay mats under two Miluo trees near Nayiliannieye Posti River (the name of this river is too difficult to pronounce). This is the origin, so the Buddha became the Buddha under the bodhi tree, and Nirvana _ was under the Miluo tree.

The Buddha was lying on the mat with his head facing north and his left foot on his right foot. All the pictures we see of Buddha's nirvana are drawn in this way, and so are the reclining Buddha in the reclining Buddha temple.

But because this hall faces south, the reclining Buddha here looks like his head faces west and south. There is also a reclining Buddha temple in Bangkok, Thailand. The reclining Buddha there is like a gilded wooden statue with its head facing north and west. It's very big. Look at that.

The Buddha was lying under the Miluo tree, and twelve disciples were sitting around him, listening to the last teachings. The Buddha died here, and the cremated relic was taken back by the eight kings of Sakyamuni's family to build a tower for support. Buddhism says nirvana _ is Sanskrit, and if it is translated freely, it should be called extinction. Extinction is to eliminate troubles, and extinction is to get rid of life and death.

There are different opinions about the date of Buddha's nirvana. Nan Hinayana and Tibetan Buddhism have the same Buddha's birthday, Buddha's enlightenment day and Buddha's nirvana day. Mahayana Buddhism in the Han Dynasty separated these anniversaries, and set the Buddha's nirvana date on February 15th of the lunar calendar, which was recorded in the scriptures brought back by Tang Priest from the Western Heaven. See "The Western Regions of Datang".

Let's talk about this Empress Dowager Cixi first. Her handwriting is really unusual, but it's still good, square and powerful, huh? It seems that she has practiced many words, too. But unlike those of emperors, her articles were taught by emperors since childhood, and it goes without saying that she had to read Historical Records. So the couplets written by the emperor have some allusions and quotations.

These sentences written by Empress Dowager Cixi are all in vernacular, straightforward and without classics. I guess when she came to the reclining Buddha Temple to worship Buddha, there must be an old monk explaining the Buddha's nirvana, so she wrote "Freedom" and hung it in the temple for fear that later people would not understand it. This is not the word formation of intellectuals at all! What's the difference between eating Sugar-Coated Berry and Sugar-Coated Berry?
