abstract

The research on core competitiveness originated from the western countries in 1990s. The theory has developed rapidly and has been widely practiced. Urban tourism is the main body of tourism, which has been recognized by domestic cities. Competition is fierce in every city. Under the above background, the core competitiveness of urban tourism industry came into being. The purpose of this study is to develop and summarize the existing theoretical system and practical methods of this problem.

The research on the core competitiveness of urban tourism industry is a new field of tourism competitiveness research. This paper puts forward the paradigm, identification system and development strategy of the core competitiveness of urban tourism.

The research mainly involves the theory of core competitiveness, regional economics, industrial economics and the principles of tourism. This paper systematically studies the core competitiveness of urban tourism by combining empirical research with normative research.

The thesis is divided into five chapters. Firstly, it introduces the necessity and significance, main contents and methods of this topic. The second chapter introduces the origin of the theory and defines the core concepts. By comparing the research paradigms of tourism competitiveness, the analysis paradigm of urban tourism core competitiveness is constructed. The third chapter expounds the paradigm of urban tourism core competitiveness, including the basic structure, influencing factors, development mechanism, identification characteristics and index system of urban tourism core competitiveness. The fourth chapter, taking Xiamen as an example, puts forward strategies and measures to build the core competitiveness of urban tourism industry. The fifth chapter is the conclusion. Summarized the main research conclusions and shortcomings of the paper. ....
