Lingxiao City, also known as Gongji City, is located at the junction of the southwest of Xingwen County and Changning County. It belongs to Wangshan Town and was a famous anti-Yuan city in the Song Dynasty. At an altitude of 1080 meters, a solitary peak rises, with cliffs on three sides and only one road (broken neck rock) accessible. The top of the mountain is flat and covers an area of ??more than 60 acres. It is 38 kilometers away from the county seat of Xingwen County.
On February 1, 1930, the Independent Regiment of the Southern Sichuan Revolutionary Army led by Communists Wang Zejia and Yuan Dunhou had more than 180 people and supported more than 140 teams, with one regiment and three battalions. , stationed in Lingxiao City, hoarded food and grass, took advantage of its steep terrain that was easy to defend and difficult to attack, opened up base areas, and expanded armed struggle. In early March, Chen Zifang, the commander of Qingxiang in Nanliu County, urgently ordered Yu Boxan to lead a small team to defend at the foot of Lingxiao Mountain. At the same time, he secretly reported to the Sichuan Provincial Government: "There is a rebellion in the southern Sichuan border area" and asked for instructions to send troops to encircle and suppress it. In early April, the provincial government ordered the Yibin Caravan Guard to dispatch two regular battalions equipped with mortars, led by Liu Wenhui's division chief of staff and Yibin County Magistrate Shen Meisun, together with Gongxian, Changning, Jiang'an, Xingwen, and Junlian Thousands of people from militia groups in counties such as , Xuyong, Gusong and other nearby towns and villages gathered at the foot of Lingxiao Mountain to encircle and suppress the workers' and peasants' revolutionary army. The Workers' and Peasants' Revolutionary Army in southern Sichuan blocked the enemy and repelled several attacks. The fierce fighting lasted until June of the same year. After losing foreign aid and running out of food and ammunition, they had to break out of the encirclement in a bloody manner. Only a few team members succeeded in breaking through.
The highway can reach 1 kilometer from the side of Lingxiao City. There is no one living on it, but grain, trees, bamboos, and medicinal materials are planted there, and relics such as gates and trenches remain.
