What should I pay attention to when I first arrive in Lhasa?

In the afternoon 19, the train arrived at Lhasa Station, and we also ended our pilgrim journey.

Lhasa, at an altitude of 3,650 meters, enjoys a sunshine time of more than 3,000 hours throughout the year, and has the reputation of "Sunlight City".

As far as the scenery is concerned, Lhasa is not the place I recommend. In Lhasa, you will see that there is almost no vegetation on the surrounding mountains, only some telephone poles stand on them. But the attraction of Lhasa lies not in its beautiful scenery, but in its cultural atmosphere.

We usually call Potala Palace Potala Palace, and we will use this name instead of Potala Palace. In Lhasa, you will see that the buildings in the whole city are not so tall and straight. Are lower than the Potala Palace.

The whole city was shrouded in the glory of the cloth palace. Bugong is the crystallization and representative of Tibetan culture, and it is precisely because of her lofty status that everyone who comes to Lhasa can look up and feel the breath of Tibetan culture.

So, what should we pay attention to after arriving in Lhasa to make our journey more smooth? Let's get off the train with the broadcast sound on the bus and start our trip to Lhasa!

Because Lhasa is located at the border of China, the terrain is relatively high. So after getting off the train in Lhasa, we can't be as casual as arriving in other tourist cities.

If you don't get off in that song, get ready for your first breath on the plateau. The air here is not as cool as that song, but it is still cool, which makes people feel like eating mints.

What you should pay attention to now is not breathing, but your steps. Don't go in a hurry when you first arrive at the plateau. The oxygen content is already very low, and it is easier to get altitude sickness if you do strenuous exercise. For the new arrivals, the strenuous exercise here refers to fast walking and more strenuous exercise than that.

Since you have been in Lhasa for so long, don't worry. All you have to do is enjoy the feeling on the plateau, and the feeling with all your heart comes from the baptism of the plateau.

On the plateau, high rebellion is inevitable, especially for the first time in Tibet. Many mainlanders who live here all the year round will have altitude sickness when they return to Tibet from home every year, not to mention this is their first time here. When I first came, I tried to drink rhodiola and other drinks to eliminate altitude sickness, with little effect. But people's physique is different, which may have an impact on you.

Although there is no effective treatment for altitude sickness at present, we can take some necessary measures to alleviate the discomfort caused by it.

Altitude sickness, also known as altitude sickness and mountain sickness, is a kind of discomfort caused by the rapid entry of human body into the plateau above 3000 meters above sea level and exposure to low-pressure and anoxic environment, and it is a common disease unique to plateau areas. Common symptoms include headache, insomnia, loss of appetite, fatigue and dyspnea. Headache is the most common symptom, which is often forehead and temple pain, and the pain is aggravated when getting up at night or in the morning.

The most effective way to reduce altitude sickness is to take oxygen, but you don't like walking around the streets of Lhasa with oxygen bottles on your back. Therefore, we must take other measures. Walking slowly mentioned above is a way to let your body gradually adapt to the environment with low oxygen content, thus reducing the degree of altitude sickness.

As mentioned earlier, Lhasa is a city with little vegetation, and the climate is very dry because of the strong sunshine. Therefore, in order to avoid water shortage, we must drink more water, which can also slow down altitude sickness to some extent. I don't advise you to rest more, because when you get to Lhasa, you will find it difficult to fall asleep due to altitude sickness. So, take water to the streets of Lhasa, drink while walking, see the Potala Palace and have some sweet tea in the teahouse.

When you first arrive in Lhasa, don't smoke and drink for so long if you feel unwell. In Lhasa, apart from Tibetan restaurants, you will see Sichuan restaurants the most. In recent years, many people from Sichuan, Henan, Qinghai and Gansu provinces have come to Tibet to do business, and they have gradually settled down here. With the arrival of Sichuanese, Sichuan cuisine has also taken root on this plateau.

But Sichuan food is spicy, and Lhasa has a dry climate, so it is not suitable to eat too much Sichuan food when you first arrive here. If you must eat, remember to remind the chef to put less pepper, because Sichuan food is super spicy by default. I hope I can help you.

Generally, June-65438+10 is the peak season for tourism in Tibet, and the housing supply is very tight at this time. Therefore, if you want to enter Tibet at this time, once the entry date is determined, you must hurry to make a reservation. Otherwise, you can't even stay in a humble small hotel. Even if you are lucky enough to find a place, the house price will surprise you. We once passed through Lhasa, which coincided with the tourist season. Because we didn't make a reservation in advance, we almost lived in an Internet cafe.

After staying in the hotel, I didn't feel tired after two days' train ride, but I wanted to take a hot bath. If you are in poor health, I advise you to give up this idea. And try not to wash your hair, because the discomfort is only temporary, but it is not a good thing if you catch a cold because of washing your hair and taking a bath.

On the plateau, don't underestimate the minor illness of cold. Unlike in the mainland, altitude sickness can easily cause pulmonary edema. Once you have pulmonary edema, all your travel plans will be ruined. If this happens unfortunately, go back quickly and don't try to treat it on the plateau, because you will never like the result.

There is no shortage of beggars almost anywhere, even in Lhasa. I don't know about other places, but in Lhasa, when you eat in a restaurant, beggars may come in and ask you for money. Most of these beggars are children. If you give alms to them, you have to bear the consequences that you will also give alms to his brothers and sisters. Of course, it may not be his relatives, just his team members. And their "parents" are at the door watching them go in and beg for money one by one.

Of course, if you are rich, I will advise you to give alms. Maybe they are really poor. On the other hand, if every sum of money you enter Tibet is carefully calculated, it is better to refuse or ignore the first child when he reaches out to you.

In extreme cases, some children will stop you in the street and he will sing songs you don't understand until you give him a "tip". What's more, he will kneel on the ground and hold your legs. In this case, he can only borrow money to eliminate the disaster and leave quickly after paying.

Last but not least. Not only in Lhasa, but also in Tibet, you should not only keep your legs from walking so fast, but also keep your mouth shut and stop talking nonsense.

Not only Tibet, but also many border areas are very sensitive places. Although everyone has freedom of speech, since we are traveling to Tibet, we can only do things related to tourism. Just look at the scenery with your eyes, listen to tibetan songs with your ears, and feel the Tibetan culture with your heart. Let's not talk about anything else. There are some things that I don't need to make clear. I think everyone understands.

If you pay attention to these things, you will have a pleasant experience in Lhasa.
