Guangsheng Temple

temple was built in the first year of Huanjian in the Eastern Han Dynasty (147). It was originally called Julushe Temple, also known as Wang Yu Pagoda, and was renamed Guangsheng Temple in the Tang Dynasty. In the fourth year of Emperor Taizong's reign (769), Guo Ziyi, the king of Fenyang, was ordered by the secretariat of the Chinese book to write a book for reconstruction. During the Song and Jin Dynasties, Guangsheng Temple was burned down and rebuilt by soldiers. In the seventh year of Dade in Yuan Chengzong (133), a major earthquake occurred in Pingyang (now Linfen), and all the temple buildings were destroyed. Dade was rebuilt in the autumn of the ninth year (135). Since then, earthquakes have occurred in Pingyang area in the thirty-fourth year of Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty (1555) and the thirty-fourth year of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty (1695). However, the temple buildings in these two earthquakes were not greatly damaged. Except for Shangsi Hongfei Tower and Daxiong Hall, which were rebuilt in Ming Dynasty, the rest were buildings in Yuan Dynasty.

Shiguang Temple is divided into upper and lower halls and water halls. The temple is located at the top of Huoshan Mountain, surrounded by cypresses, towering pagodas and magnificent glazed components.
