Do Moroccan citizens need a visa to come to China?

Since 2014, China and Morocco have implemented mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and official passports. Other Moroccan citizens still need to apply for a Chinese visa when coming to China.

Since June 1, 2016, Morocco has officially implemented a visa-free policy for Chinese citizens. This time, Morocco has implemented a unilateral visa-free policy for all types of Chinese passport holders.

The "Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco on the Mutual Exemption of Visas for Diplomatic and Service Passport Holders" will come into effect on March 6, 2014. The agreement stipulates that citizens of one contracting party who hold a valid diplomatic or service passport of their own country are exempt from visa requirements when entering, exiting or transiting in the other contracting party for a stay not exceeding 60 days.

Foreign citizens who come to China under any of the following circumstances are exempted from applying for a visa:

1. Bilateral agreement. According to bilateral agreements or agreements signed or reached between China and relevant countries, people from some countries who meet specific conditions can come to China without a visa. (Morocco does not meet this criteria).

2. Direct transit. Holding a connecting ticket to board an international aircraft, ship, or train from China to a third country or region in transit, the stay in China shall not exceed 24 hours and the passenger shall not leave the port.

3. 72-hour airport transit visa exemption

1. Three conditions need to be met:

(1) 51 countries that fall within the scope of the 72-hour transit visa exemption Citizens of the country.

(2) Hold your valid international travel documents and a connecting ticket to a third country (region) with a confirmed date and seat within 72 hours.

(3) Transit to a third country (region) from an airport that allows transit.
