Allusions and travel strategies of Baoen Temple Tower in Suzhou

Suzhou Hoonji Pagoda has a history of 1700 years, and was founded in the Three Kingdoms period. There are too many historical stories, allusions and legends here. It is said that it is also the oldest temple in Suzhou, with strong incense and attracting a large number of citizens and tourists. The following is a detailed introduction to the allusions and history of the Baoen Temple Tower in Suzhou.

Its history is longer than Hanshan Temple, and it is the oldest temple in Suzhou. Founded in the Three Kingdoms period (238-25 1), it has a history of 1700 years. According to historical records, it was built by Sun Quan, Chen's wet nurse, and it is a famous temple. In the early Tang Dynasty, it was renamed Kaiyuan Temple and later Hongzhi.

Compared with the tourists in Hanshan Temple, this is a quiet and beautiful place. Ducks were discovered by accident. After visiting Pingjiang Road Pedestrian Street, I called a rickshaw and sat at the nearest subway entrance. The master took me directly to the subway entrance of the North Temple Tower, got off the bus and saw the tall tower. I decided to go in and have a look. Hoonji, the North Tower rarely mentioned by major tour guides in Suzhou, is really eye-catching. I can't help feeling that the ancient city of Suzhou is really rich in history, like a rickshaw that I have never seen in other cities. You can also experience it here.

The North Temple Tower, which is not so well-known to tourists, is Hongji, but it actually occupies a very high position in the hearts of Suzhou people. After coming out of the North Temple Tower, I asked some friends in Suzhou. They heard that I went to the North Temple Tower and replied that you finally went to the most Suzhou place in Suzhou people's hearts.

The North Temple Tower is actually decorated with a piece of jade, but most people in Suzhou call it the North Temple Tower, which is named because it is located in the north of the ancient city of Suzhou, and the most conspicuous one is this tower. Even the subway station is named after the "North Temple Tower".

Legend has it that Sun Quan, the overlord of the Three Kingdoms, built it to repay his mother's kindness. For thousands of years, after ups and downs, it has always been the highest point in Suzhou. There were many pagodas in the Southern Dynasties, but 1 1 was high. Unfortunately, it was later burned down. During the Yuanfeng period of the Northern Song Dynasty (1078- 1085), the Baoen Temple Tower was rebuilt to 9 floors, but it was built for four years in the early Southern Song Dynasty (1 130) and was destroyed by war again. In the 23rd year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1 153), Hongji Tower was transformed into a nine-level octagonal tower. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Baoen Temple Tower was repaired several times.

Compared with most scenic spots in Suzhou, tickets are quite high, such as Humble Administrator's Garden 70 yuan, Tiger Hill, Honghu 60 yuan, which are all free. The order of the visit is to enter through the door on the left and exit through the door on the right. The first thing I saw was a smiling Maitreya Buddha. Maitreya Buddha, also known as the Buddha of the future, is often seen with a bare chest and belly, smiling (or a big-bellied monk), imitating a cloth bag monk. In Buddhism, as an example of education, it means "many great blessings" to remind the world to learn tolerance. Among them, the big belly can hold things that the world can't hold; Open your mouth and laugh at the ridiculous people in the world. That smile seems to have a kind of magic, washing the soul and seeing more luxurious monasteries. This simple arrangement is very novel.

Behind Maitreya is the North Temple Tower. You are not allowed to visit this tower now. A little disappointed, but understandable. After all, if anyone can go up, it will be even more difficult to protect cultural relics. According to local friends in Suzhou, the tower overlooks the whole city of Suzhou, with magnificent gardens and panoramic views of the ancient city. You can only think about that scene.

After circling the tower clockwise for three times, continue to walk inside. There is a small door to enter, named "Meipu". It is highly recommended to have a look. I didn't expect a small Soviet-style garden to be hidden in this quiet temple. Rockery, ponds, pavilions, stone bridges and flowers are more interesting than famous gardens like Humble Administrator's Garden and Lion Forest. Moreover, they have a dusty temperament, and there are not many tourists, which is more poetic.

Lu and I were really shocked at that time.

On the side of Kannonji, there is a rare stone carving in Yuan Dynasty-Zhang Shicheng Monument. This stone tablet is said to have been erected by Shen Wansan, a rich man in the south of the Yangtze River at the end of Yuan Dynasty, and describes the scene of Zhang Shicheng marrying Yuan in 19. The relief technique is profound, the sculpture is exquisite, the composition is rigorous, the architectural layout is clear, the levels are distinct, the faces of the characters are clear, the postures are different, and the folds are smooth. It is the top stone carving art in Yuan Dynasty and has historical value. The last defeated king in history has such a memorial tablet, which is rare in China.

There are seven Buddhist temples here, and there are over 20,000 temples in China. It is said that only three statues are dedicated to seven buddha. "seven buddha" refers to the Buddha of Sakyamuni and the six Buddhas that appeared before him, namely, the south Buddha without corpse, the south Buddha without sun, the south Buddha without sand, the south Buddha without floating life and the south Buddha without corpse.

Finally, I walked out of the temple through the long corridor and felt back in the bustling world. Unconsciously, I stayed in Hoonji for 2 hours. Only then can I deeply understand why this place is the soul of old Suzhou, not only because of the height of the North Temple Tower, but also because of its inner peace and ancient charm. I think this is the most attractive place in the ancient city of Suzhou.

The most "Suzhou" place in Suzhou people's hearts is the only commanding height in the city, with a longer history than Hanshan Temple and few tourists. Tickets are free!
