The Historical Evolution of National Tourism Administration of the People's Republic of China
The National Tourism Administration of the People's Republic of China, formerly known as China Tourism Administration, was established in 1964. It is the functional department of the State Council to manage the national international and domestic tourism.
In March, 1993, the National Tourism Administration officially joined the Pacific Asia Travel Association. 1In April, 1993, the State Council decided that the National Tourism Administration should be directly under the State Council.
On August 1998, 1 1, with the approval of the State Council, the National Tourism Administration began to use the name and seal of the National Tourism Administration of the People's Republic of China, and the original name and seal ceased to be used.
