Do I need to prepare materials for the USCPA visa interview?
If you need to apply for a business/tourist visa, you should pay an application fee of US$160 and submit the following materials:
. Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application Form (DS-160). For more information about the DS-160, please visit the DS-160 web page.
. A valid passport for travel to the United States must be valid for at least six months beyond the intended period of stay in the United States (except for countries with special agreements that enjoy exemptions). If the passport contains more than one person, each visa applicant will need to submit a separate application.
. One (1) 2"x2" (5.1cmx5.1cm) photo taken within the last six months. See this page for instructions on photo formats.
. If a visa is granted, a visa reciprocity fee may also be payable, depending on the applicant's nationality. To learn about visa reciprocity fees and their amounts, visit the U.S. Department of State website.
In addition to the above materials, you should also present an interview reservation letter to prove that you have made an appointment for an interview through this service channel. You can also provide other supporting documents to the visa officer.
Supporting documentation is only one of many factors that visa officers need to consider during the interview. The visa officer will combine professional, social, cultural and other factors to make corresponding analysis and judgment based on the specific situation of each applicant. The visa officer needs to weigh the applicant's intention to come to the United States, family background, long-term plans in the country of original residence and other information. Each visa application will be treated as an independent case and given full consideration in accordance with the law.
Note: Please do not use false materials. Deception or misrepresentation of facts may result in permanent visa denial. To protect personal privacy, applicants should bring their materials to the embassy/consulate in a sealed package. The embassy/consulate adheres to the principle of information confidentiality and will not disclose the applicant's materials to anyone.
Please bring the following materials to the interview. If possible, it is better to use originals rather than photocopies. Please do not submit any supporting documents to the embassy/consulate by fax, email or mail.
. Current income certificate, tax bill, real estate certificate or business ownership certificate, and asset certificate.
. Itinerary and/or other instructions regarding travel plans.
. A letter of introduction from the applicant’s employer, detailing the applicant’s position, salary, entry date, whether leave is allowed, the purpose of going to the United States to participate in business activities (if any), etc.
. Criminal/Court Records (regardless of where arrested or convicted, even if sentence has been served or pardoned).
