How to protect testicles and prostate during long-term cycling?
Nowadays, some people especially like long-distance cycling. The most common one is riding a bicycle, and most men like to travel by bicycle. When riding a bicycle, a man’s genitals will be close to each other. On the board, long-term riding will compress the male testicles, then.
1. How to protect the genitals
Men’s parts that are not conducive to cycling. Cyclists must know that in daily life, male protection of the prostate is an important start for our better life. The prostate is the largest accessory gland among the male organs. The prostate is located behind and below the bladder, just at the bottom of the pelvic cavity, close to the perineum. If you ride a bicycle improperly, it will over-stimulate the prostate, causing it to become swollen, congested or damaged, and the prostate fluid will not be secreted smoothly, leading to inflammation of the prostate. Early Symptoms Caused by Cycling If some cyclists feel some discomfort in the female private parts, carefully observe whether the symptoms are like this: The main early symptoms are swelling or pain in the female private parts, a sinking feeling in the anus, and sometimes After urinating, there is a little white liquid dripping out of the urethra.
If you have similar symptoms, it is recommended to stop cycling for a period of time to let the prostate relax for a period of time, or go to the hospital for diagnosis. If you continue to ride without interruption, it may also lead to prostatic hyperplasia (prostatic hyperplasia). The enlarged prostate compresses the urethra, causing poor urination and weak urination. The urine line becomes thin, bifurcated or even intermittent. The patient has difficulty urinating every time. Therefore, the frequency of urination increases, especially at night. At this time, you need to go to the hospital for treatment to inhibit the development of the disease. Severe symptoms can lead to prostatitis. Due to the stimulation and congestion of long-term inflammation, gland atrophy, endocrine disorders, and varying degrees of sexual dysfunction will occur, which can easily lead to male infertility, and other secondary diseases are also likely to occur.
Factors that cause prostate inflammation during cycling
1. Riding posture: Some riders did not develop a standard riding habit in the early days, resulting in unstable pedaling rate. The movements are difficult to coordinate, and the cyclist is prone to rocking up, down, left, and right while pedaling. The front of the saddle is higher and the cyclist's center of gravity is farther back, thus compressing the prostate. In addition, if you don't know how to adjust your posture, if the road is bumpy and the car is bumpy when driving, it will more easily irritate the female private parts, causing congestion, swelling and damage to the prostate.
2. Frame size: Because of my short stature, I did not choose a bicycle with the most suitable size. The seat was too high, which made it impossible to adjust the riding posture to a comfortable state, causing pressure on the prostate.
3. Sit bag: The seat bag is too narrow and the two sides of the rear part of the bag cannot comfortably contact the sit bones, causing compression.
4. Time: Mainly aimed at riders who ride long distances for a long time. If you don't get enough rest and stop cycling less often, your prostate will be under pressure for a long time, causing congestion and swelling of the prostate.
5. Bad habits: For cyclists who smoke, drink and drink. How to prevent it is to first learn a reasonable riding posture. On the basis of the regular riding posture, choose a frame size that suits your height, choose a seat bag with a wider rear part, and adjust the height of the seat tube. To achieve the most comfortable position possible, let the back half of the seat bag contact the ischium. The front half of the seat bag should not be raised too much. The height should be moderate before and after. It is possible to adjust the seat bag to a horizontal position.
Riders who like to ride long distances are recommended to choose a soft seat bag. The front part of the seat should be slightly lower than the rear part, and choose a seat bag with a middle air discharge groove. After a long ride, take a hot water sitz bath (recommended water temperature is around 40°C) to promote local blood circulation. If the prostate shows signs of early mild inflammation and if you find any discomfort after riding, you should stop riding. If the symptoms are more obvious, you should see a doctor for early treatment. Frequent cyclists are advised to quit smoking and drinking to avoid aggravating prostate congestion.
Maintenance during breaks from riding
1. Regular life, regular daily life, and proper physical exercise can improve blood circulation, promote increased secretion of prostatic fluid, and eliminate bacterial toxins , and at the same time, it can promote drug absorption and enhance resistance. Drink more water and urinate frequently. Use urination to flush the urethra and help the prostate secretions to be discharged to prevent infection.
2. Reducing sexual intercourse, quitting smoking, and quitting drinking can achieve the purpose of reducing prostate congestion and edema, which is beneficial to the health of the prostate. Keep external genitalia and female private parts clean to prevent infection.
3. Avoid spicy and irritating foods to keep bowel movements smooth and reduce factors that induce prostatitis.
2. Testicular size factors
There is no obvious dividing line between normal testicles and atrophic testicles. The testicles are located in the scrotum, one on each side, with an average length of 4 to 5 cm, a width of 2.5 to 3.5 cm, and a weight of about 10.5 to 14 grams. The volume of the testicles on both sides of a normal adult man is roughly the same. At present, the internationally accepted testicular volume measuring instrument is often used to measure the testicular volume (including scrotal skin).
Chinese testicle size ranges from 15 to 25. Clinically, tests smaller than size 12 are often diagnosed as "testicular atrophy". Testicular volume is an important diagnostic index in the clinical work of andrology (male infertility and fertility regulation).
The testicular volume of Chinese adult men is longitudinal diameter x transverse diameter (cm): 154.29
Congenital testicular underdevelopment. When suffering from immature sexual organs and hypopituitarism, the testicles on both sides are often underdeveloped. If an abnormality occurs during embryonic development and results in incomplete testicular descent or cryptorchidism, the testicles on the affected side will be underdeveloped because the temperature in the abdominal cavity is higher than the temperature in the scrotum. Acquired testicular atrophy is mostly caused by trauma, testicular disease and infection.
Closed trauma to the testicles can cause testicular bleeding and infarction. Sharp objects such as nails and wires can also puncture the testicles. Trauma can also cause the spermatic cord to twist, blocking blood supply and endangering the survival of the testicles. Therefore, testicular injury should be treated as soon as possible. Certain diseases, such as varicocele, can sometimes cause testicular atrophy. The veins in the male spermatic cord are blocked for some reason, and the veins in the male spermatic cord can become dilated and coiled, which is called varicocele. Among male infertility, varicocele accounts for about 15% to 20%.
Severe varicocele infertility patients generally have testicular atrophy. The causes of testicular atrophy may be stagnation of the spermatic vein, higher than normal scrotal temperature, testicular dystrophy, toxins, etc. Infection is also an important cause of testicular atrophy. Most commonly, mumps can cause viral orchitis.
If the disease occurs after puberty, orchitis complicated by mumps can cause severe local inflammatory reactions. There may be excess fluid accumulation in the hydrocele, which is acute hydrocele. Smallpox, chickenpox, measles, influenza, and other similar infections can occasionally cause secondary orchitis. To clinically judge whether testicles are atrophic, in addition to measuring the size of the testicles, we must also pay attention to the texture.
On palpation, the texture of the testis becomes soft, indicating that the testicular parenchyma is severely damaged. When it is difficult to determine whether testicles are atrophied, a semen test can be of great help. Testicular atrophy can occur on one side or both sides. For example, if one testicle is congenitally absent, removed by surgery, or destroyed by disease, the contralateral testicle will have compensatory hyperplasia. The most accurate way to diagnose testicular atrophy is testicular biopsy and pathological examination. This examination should be considered when diagnosis is difficult.
