How to apply for a passport when traveling to Ghana and the country? What certificates are needed and where to apply?

1. General Requirements

All Chinese citizens who plan to come to Ghana must apply for an entry visa from the Ghana Embassy in China in advance. Those who intend to invest and do business in Ghana should obtain investment information and inquire about relevant business opportunities from the Embassy of Ghana in China or the Embassy of China in Ghana in advance.

2. Entry requirements

(1) Entry visa: All Chinese citizens entering Ghana must hold a valid Chinese passport and an entry visa issued by the Ghana Embassy in China.

2. Intended period of stay in Ghana

3. Whether you have a valid round-trip air ticket

4. Proof of sufficient funds

(5) Transit visa: issued to persons transiting through Ghana to a third country. Holders of this visa are only allowed to stay in Ghana for 48 hours and are not allowed to engage in any commercial activities during this period.

(6) Multiple-entry visa: issued to persons who have invested, worked or resided in Ghana.

3. Visit visa

(1) All holders of business, tourist and visit visas can obtain a stay permit of up to 60 days when entering Ghana.

Special reminder: Except for emergency entry visas, multiple-entry visas and specially noted visas, other visa holders are not allowed to engage in any commercial activities in Ghana. Anyone found will be detained, fined and Deportation.

(2) The stay permit is allowed to be extended twice, for 2 months each time, for a total of 6 months. During this period, the holder must complete all business procedures. If it cannot be completed within this time, the only options are: (1) Return to the country of original residence; (2) Ask the relevant Canadian unit to issue proof of failure to complete the relevant procedures and apply for an extension.

4. Registering the company

After arriving in Ghana, investors must first go to the Register General Department to go through the company registration procedures to obtain a business license and company certificate.

Please note: After obtaining the above licenses and certificates, you need to go to the Investment Promotion Center, Free Zone Management Committee or Mineral Management Committee to go through relevant procedures according to the nature of the company. The above three departments will issue letters proving legal status in Canada for investors. 5. Investment Promotion Center (GIPC)

The Ghana Investment Promotion Center is an institution established by the Ghanaian government to encourage and promote investment. Except for minerals, oil exploration, doctors, lawyers and companies registered under the name of the free trade zone, all other companies go to the center to handle relevant procedures.

(1) Investment amount requirements

1. Joint ventures with Ghanaians: foreign capital must not be less than US$10,000

6. Free Trade Zone Committee

The Free Trade Zone Committee provides investors with one-stop services to help investors complete their business operations. Relevant procedures for investing in the zone.

Investors who wish to become free trade zone developers or plan to open businesses in free trade zones need to apply for different licenses and permits.

Any piece of land or factory building in Ghana can be declared a free trade zone as long as it is approved by the Free Trade Zone Committee.

(1) Requirements

Investors are allowed to use leased land or their own real estate for the development and operation of free trade zones.

(2) Free Trade Zone Developer

Any investor who wishes to become a free trade zone developer must obtain a business license issued by the Free Trade Zone Committee.

The developer's business license fee is US$4,000 or cedis equivalent to that amount for the first year. The annual license renewal fee thereafter shall be US$2,000 or cedis equivalent to that amount.

A business license will be issued after the applicant completes the relevant forms.

(3) Free Trade Zone Enterprises/Companies

Any investor who plans to apply for a manufacturing, commercial and service company in the Free Trade Zone must obtain the relevant certificate issued by the Free Trade Zone Committee license.

(4) Work and Residence Permit

(1) Developers and enterprises that have obtained business licenses must handle work for each technician if they hire technicians from abroad that Ghana does not have. and residence permit.

(2) The employer must submit an application for a work and residence permit to the Free Trade Zone Committee two months before the employee’s arrival in Canada, and attach the employee’s health certificate.

(3) Each employee’s residence permit shall be valid for no more than 2 years.

(4) Applicants need to pay fees to the Free Trade Zone Committee in accordance with the following provisions, which include the processing fee for the Immigration Bureau to issue a residence permit.

In years 1 and 2, it is US$200 per employee per year;

In years 3 and 4, it is US$400 per employee per year;

In year 5 and thereafter, $500 per employee per year.

(5) Work permits are non-transferable and fees paid cannot be refunded.

7. Mining Commission

Any operator planning to invest in minerals and petroleum must register with the Mining Commission in accordance with the law. The committee can issue letters of recommendation for investors currently engaged in exploration work to apply for extension of residence.

After registering in accordance with the Company Law, investors must provide proof of real estate owned, rented or intended to be rented.

8. Immigration Quotas

After registering a company in Ghana, investors can apply to the Immigration Quota Committee for foreign employee quotas and hire foreign employees according to the quotas granted by relevant ministries and commissions.

1) The work permit for hiring foreign employees will indicate the number of employees and types of work.

2) The approval letter for the quota of hiring foreign employees may stipulate a time limit for a special position, and the foreign employee must transfer his skills to his Ghanaian assistant within the specified time limit.

10. Professionals

It is illegal for foreign doctors, dentists, lawyers, pharmacists and other professionals to engage in their professional activities without registering with the corresponding professional units in accordance with relevant regulations. 11. Residence Permit

(1) The Director of Immigration may issue a residence permit to foreigners who intend to stay in Ghana for a long time.

(2) Unless otherwise specified on the residence permit, holders of the residence permit are not allowed to engage in any employment, business or professional activities.

(3) When applying for a residence permit for the first time, the residence period is limited to 4 years and can be extended.

(4) Those who have obtained a residence permit valid for 4 years can apply for a longer stay period in the future; if the holder meets all the conditions stipulated in the previously issued residence permit and has never abused the permission privileges , the Immigration Director is satisfied with the performance and may grant an extension of time not exceeding 4 years.

(5) The Director of Immigration may issue a residence permit to the spouse or family members of the person who has obtained the residence permit (or the head of household), provided that these persons shall not engage in any paid work.

(6) The validity period of the residence permit issued to the spouse or relative shall not exceed the validity period of the head of household’s residence permit or the remaining period of residence on the head of household’s residence permit.

14. Illegal work

No one may hire foreign employees without permission.

Any company that hires a foreigner in violation of the above regulations will be fined 10 million cedis by the Immigration Department; any individual who violates this regulation will be fined 5 million cedis.

If the fined company fails to pay the fine in full within 7 days, it is an illegal act and must pay the maximum fine. If the fined individual fails to pay the fine, he will pay the maximum fine. The two maximum fines mentioned above are determined by the judge.

15. Annual Report< /p>

All employers who have obtained immigration quotas in accordance with the law must fill in the relevant reports and submit them to the Director of Immigration before January 14th of each year, and provide the names and addresses of all foreign employees they have hired in Ghana over the past year.

16. Permanent Residency

Article 573 of the Immigration Law passed in 2000, foreigners who have lived in Canada for a long time and contributed to the economy of Ghana can apply for long-term residence and Provisions are made for permanent residence.

Only those who meet the following conditions can apply for permanent residence in Ghana:
