Tourism development in Baijia Town

Baijia is a hometown of lakes and islands. The "Osmanthus Island Resort" first founded by Yue Longfang, a national model worker and Municipal People's Congress representative, has long been famous for being adjacent to cities and counties.

In 2003, we continued to improve the infrastructure of the scenic spot, built 23 kilometers of new roads, hardened 1.2 kilometers, renovated and widened 2 kilometers of roads, and improved the installation of scenic signboards and traffic signs. The newly built "Crescent Bay Resort" with an investment of 500,000 yuan was completed and opened in May 2004. The "Landscape Science Park" under construction has completed an investment of 700,000 yuan by the end of 2004 and is scheduled to be completed in 2006. Each tourist attraction has received more than 5,000 tourists in two years.

Continuously improve the educational environment and school running conditions, and allocated more than 1 million yuan in two years to renovate dilapidated buildings in Yunshan and Baiyi schools. New teacher dormitories and teaching buildings were built, and Baiyi School built new standardized toilets, eliminating hidden dangers and optimizing the educational environment. Internal management of schools has been strengthened, and the achievements of “universal nine-year education” have been consolidated. The radio and television industry has made new breakthroughs. Within two years, 1,232 fiber-optic viewing households have been developed, and broadband networks have entered residents' homes. We actively promoted the reform of the hospital system, completed the merger and joint venture between Baijia Health Center and Heyou Central Hospital, added new medical equipment, improved the quality of medical care, and made it easier for the people to seek medical treatment on the spot. The social security order has fundamentally improved. We insist on year-round legal education and "strike hard" rectification, promptly mediate civil disputes, and strengthen the concept of the rule of law. No vicious cases have occurred in two years. Funeral reform is progressing smoothly. Since October 2003, all 321 people who died in the township have been cremated. We have done a good job in special care, disaster relief, and relief work, cared for and helped vulnerable groups in society, and carried out activities to send warmth and love. In the past two years, township government agencies, units, and schools donated a total of 15,000 yuan, which was sent to veteran party members, veteran cadres, and military personnel respectively. We visited the families of martyrs and poor households, further strengthening the relationship between the party and the masses, cadres and the masses. By strengthening market management and demarcating markets, the phenomena of dirty, chaotic, poor, and disorderly operations in markets and towns have been curbed, and a safe and orderly operating environment has been established, which has promoted the prosperity of the market.

The entire township fully taps into our township’s rich historical and cultural heritage and unique natural resources, and plays a major role in tourism. First, we persisted in attracting investment to develop and improve tourist attractions, with a total investment of 30 million yuan; second, we accelerated the construction of supporting facilities in tourist areas and solved problems such as water, electricity, roads, and communications in tourist areas; third, we successfully held the "Lake Island" The "Hometown" Melon Tasting Festival has increased the popularity of tourist attractions and improved the overall image of the tourist area.

Baijia Town in Dianjiang County is known as the "Lake of Thousand Islands in the West".
