Historical evolution: Wuyi University is a public full-time undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education on March 19, 2007. Its predecessor was founded in 1958. Nanping Normal College on August 12, 2018. In January 1962, Nanping Normal University was established on the basis of the merger of Fuzhou Normal University. In September 1963, the school merged with several colleges such as Xiamen and Quanzhou to form Fujian Second Normal College. It was closed during the Cultural Revolution.
