Main buildings of Foshan ancestral temple:
1, Wanfutai was built in the 15th year of Shunzhi in the early Qing Dynasty (1685). The building is built on the top of the mountain, with three bays wide and two bays deep. It is divided into a front desk and a back desk. The front desk has three doors. It is a stage specially used for acting, and it is also a well-preserved ancient stage in Guangdong Province and even South China. Foshan is the birthplace of Cantonese opera, which is a witness.
2. The Ling Ying archway was built in the second year of Jingtai in Ming Dynasty (145 1). When the ancestral hall was named Ling Ying Temple, the facade was "Ling Ying" and the north was "Shengqu". The archway is well designed and structured. It is a three-story building, with the rest peak on the first floor and the roof of the palace on the second and third floors. Buckets are widely used between eaves and columns, and the eaves are green and endless.
3. Jinxiangchi was excavated in Zhengde period of Ming Dynasty. Originally a earthen pond, it was changed to a stone pond with stone pillars during the Yongzheng period of the Qing Dynasty. There is a huge turtle and snake in it, symbolizing the original body of Zhenwu Emperor, which seems to fluctuate with the waves in the pool.
The bell and drum tower is located on the east and west sides of the third door of the ancestral hall. Built in the second year of Chongzhen in the Ming Dynasty (1629), it was built on a 2.6-meter-high blue brick platform. The bell and drum tower in the ancestral temple not only plays the role of "morning bell and evening drum" in general temples, but also plays the role of "commanding the left and right bells and drums, and strengthening the appearance of the temple" and "thinking about the drums and not believing in loyalty".
