Traditional Culture Encyclopedia - Tourist attractions - The second chapter is a short answer to the question. What are the travel needs? What is the principle of tourism demand?

The second chapter is a short answer to the question. What are the travel needs? What is the principle of tourism demand?

Tourism demand refers to some basic needs that people can meet through tourism behavior, especially spiritual and social needs. Modern people have a fast pace of life and great pressure. On weekends or holidays, they love mountains and rivers, broaden their horizons and release pressure. Or visit places with different customs and cultures to meet the needs of increasing knowledge; Or travel with different friends to increase communication and understanding and meet emotional needs. All belong to tourism needs.

Tourism need is a special manifestation of people's general needs in the process of tourism, and it is a curious psychological state of tourists or potential tourists due to the lack of tourism activities and their elements, that is, their intentions and wishes for tourism.

The main body of tourism demand is tourists, including real tourists and potential tourists; The object is tourism, including tourism activities and various elements involved in tourism. All tourism-oriented needs are tourism needs, not just people's wishes and requirements for tourism products and services. What tourism psychology should explore is what needs tourism behavior originates from and what needs tourism behavior can meet.

Teaching outline of tourism principles

First of all, the nature of the course

This course is a basic course for tourism management majors.

Second, the teaching purpose and requirements

Through the teaching of this course, students can obtain basic knowledge about tourism phenomenon, including its origin, form, structure, characteristics, nature, and its relationship with other related aspects of society, and explain it; Deeply understand and master the two basic principles of "tourism is the product of the development of market economy" and "tourism is a comprehensive social phenomenon" (in fact, the explanation of tourism phenomenon in this course is based on the understanding of these two basic propositions); Change the traditional way of thinking of students in the study and research of basic tourism theory, that is, the study of tourism phenomena must be centered on the needs of tourists and must be investigated in the context of the whole society and even the whole world. On this basis, we should closely link with tourism practice and constantly improve students' ability to analyze, solve and innovate problems.

Third, the reform of curriculum content.

At present, the teaching content of this course (formerly known as "Introduction to Tourism") mostly simply expounds the types, forms of expression, organization and development factors of tourism service industry, lacking in in-depth theoretical exploration, losing the nature of basic theory course as a theoretical discussion of tourism phenomena at the macro level and falling into the quagmire of "departmental economy". Its teaching content generally includes the history of tourism development, tourists, tourism resources, tourism, tourism market, the role and influence of tourism, etc. And the whole teaching content system has not changed much. Students may still be interested in listening to these contents when they first enter school, but when they reach the third year of high school, they feel that these contents are a bit simple and superficial, and it seems that this course is unnecessary. Among them, the important reason is that in the teaching of various courses in the future, a considerable part of the teaching content is repeated. The teaching content of "Introduction to Tourism" is repeated with travel agency management, introduction to modern tourist hotel management, tourism economics, tourism marketing and so on. And the latter is a more in-depth, systematic, theoretical, formulaic and practical case. Therefore, in the revision of the new curriculum outline, we renamed the course "Principles of Tourism", which broke the long-standing teaching content system. In addition to the existing teaching content, tourism experience, tourism flow, tourism support, tourism effect, operation paradigm and development paradigm of tourism phenomenon are introduced, which greatly improves and develops the tourism theory system in order to receive better results in future teaching.
