In order to deeply understand the development and existing problems of Mianyang's tourism industry and ensure the sustained and strong development of our city's tourism industry, I made a survey of six star-rated hotels in Mianyang (including two 2-star hotels, two 3-star hotels and two 4-star hotels) and Wang Lang, Baima, Honghu, Ape King Cave, Li Bai's former residence, Li Bai Memorial Hall, Doulie Mountain, Qianfo Mountain, Luofushan Hot Spring and Qiqu Mountain Temple. The investigation is as follows:
I. Investigation situation
1. Composition of tourists coming to Mian: tourists coming to Mian are mainly from the province, accounting for 75.54%, while tourists from Chengdu and Mianyang are mainly from the province, accounting for 20. 17% and 22.53% respectively; Tourists from outside the province account for 24.46%, and their distribution is relatively scattered, and they are distributed in 14 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions throughout the country. It can be seen from the survey that self-driving tourism accounts for more than half of Mianyang's tourism market, and it is generally believed that the roads are in good condition. This shows that the accessible banks in Mianyang are generally satisfied. The main questions are:
First, Mianyang's tourist road traffic network needs to be improved. Foreign tourists, especially Shaanxi tourists, have a special liking for Mianyang tourism. On the same day, Jiangyou Sunshine Travel Agency received a two-day tour of 84 people organized by Shaanxi Baoji Tongcheng Travel Agency, and visited the science and technology museum, city appearance, Economic Development Zone, Ape King Cave Scenic Area, Li Bai Memorial Hall and Doutuan Mountain Scenic Area of our city. The team came to Mianxian by train from Baoji, but they couldn't buy a return train ticket at Jiangyou Railway Station. After many efforts, Jiangyou Sunshine Travel Agency managed to buy 42 berth tickets and 4 1 hard seat tickets for the team, and they were still returned in stages in four trips, which brought great inconvenience to tourists and greatly reduced the service quality of the travel agency. Even if the travel agency makes compensation by giving Taibai forest of steles, its direct economic loss will reach 1000. This incident typically exposed the problems encountered by our city's external transportation. Railway is the main channel for northern tourists to enter our city. Ensuring smooth and convenient railway tourism is of great significance to developing the northern tourism market.
2. The construction level of scenic spots has been greatly improved, but tourism products need to be enriched.
Before the "one festival and one meeting", our city built six top-quality tourist areas, which greatly improved the level of tourist attractions in our city and improved our tourism image, as can be seen from the growth rate of tourists during the period of 5. 1. However, there are still the following problems in our city's tourism products:
First, the tourism products are single, the projects are monotonous, the scenic spots are not exquisite and the cultural atmosphere is not strong. From this survey, we can see that tourists' preference for tourism resources in our city is not high, and the most popular ones are landscape and human history, with only 45.49% and 36.05% of tourists interested, less than half of them. From the interview, we know that tourists generally think that there are too few scenic spots in our city to participate in projects. The more prominent scenic spots are Li Bai's hometown, Qianfo Mountain and Wang Lang, and Zitong Qiqu Mountain Scenic Area is too concentrated on sightseeing and offering sacrifices to temples. Many tourists talk about the profound tourism culture of our city, but the development of cultural tourism products and activities lags behind, and many cultural tourism scenic spots lack cultural atmosphere. The development of ethnic customs and people's feelings is still at a very low level, and the excavation and protection of ethnic customs are not enough, such as Baima ethnic customs and Qiang ethnic customs, and the tendency to sinicize is serious.
Second, tourism shopping is a weakness of our city's tourism industry. This survey and interviews with tourists have a very prominent response to this point. Among the people surveyed, only 4.438+0% are interested in traveling and shopping.
Third, festivals are unattractive. Although our city is rich in tourism festival resources, in recent years, large-scale festivals such as International Li Bai Cultural Tourism Festival, White Horse Scenery Festival, Qiang calendar year and Wenchang Cultural Tourism Festival have been held, and this year, the International Li Bai Cultural Tourism Festival has been held ceremoniously, but only 4.5 1% of tourists are interested in our city's tourism festival activities. On the one hand, many people don't know about Mianyang's tourism festival. 3. Tourism management services need to be improved in many aspects.
Generally speaking, tourists are satisfied with Mianyang's traffic police, road management, scenic spot order and sanitation, local transportation, catering, accommodation and other management services, but they are not satisfied with long-distance transportation, toll station services, tour guide explanations, scenic spot services, entertainment, shopping and so on. The outstanding problems are:
First, tourism traffic management: There are two toll stations in Anxian County, which is extremely inconvenient for tourists; Mianzi Road charges are too high; Dissatisfied with the "secondary fee" charged by the vehicle; The toll collector has a bad attitude; The identification of speed measuring point in Jiangyou section is unknown; If you want to go to Doutuanshan without a tourist route card, you must transfer to a local vehicle in Wudu. The signs along the tourist routes and Mianyang City to the scenic spots need to be further improved.
The second is the management service of tourist attractions: after buying tickets in Qianfo Mountain Scenic Area, you need to walk for a certain distance to check in, and the lack of transportation facilities in the area brings great inconvenience to tourists. The three museums of Li Bai Memorial Park are uncoordinated, the free Taibai Park is overcrowded, and the paid Li Bai Memorial Park has few visitors, which can not achieve the effect of integrating the three museums. There are insufficient toilets in scenic spots, lack of convenient measures such as storage service, low quality and insufficient enthusiasm of service personnel in scenic spots, and many service personnel in scenic spots can't speak Mandarin. Accommodation in scenic spots is too high and there is a lack of budget hotels.
Third, the tourism business environment: Some scenic spots pointed out that during the Golden Week, there were too many inspections by relevant departments, and enterprise managers were tired of coping. There is also a phenomenon that some departments and law enforcement officers in scenic spots take relatives and friends for free tours, which affects normal business activities.
Fourth, there are security risks in some areas: the protective fence from Pingwu to Wang Lang is not enough; There is a phenomenon that non-operating vehicles illegally pull customers up the mountain in Ape King Cave; Riding events in Baima Scenic Area occupy the road. Xiaozhaizigou Road does not have reception conditions, but some tourists still enter the area for sightseeing without authorization. The fire hazard in Baima tourist area is serious, the wires are exposed, and the scenic spot lacks medical rescue points.
4. Some information about publicity and promotion.
Many tourists and tourism professionals also mentioned that it is necessary to strengthen the publicity of Mianyang's overall tourism image, integrate marketing and comprehensively shape Mianyang's tourism image.
Through investigation, I found that 39.48% people went to Mianyang scenic spot because of the introduction of friends. Combined with the interview, we learned that there are two main reasons for this. One reason is that the media publicity before "One Meeting and One Festival" greatly improved the enthusiasm and understanding of Mianyang citizens for Mianyang tourism, and thus actively recommended Mianyang tourism to friends, forming a nationwide publicity and promotion effect. Another reason is that tourists have a good impression on Mianyang after they arrive, so they recommend it to their friends, forming a word-of-mouth effect.
In addition, it should be noted that the effect of TV publicity (especially for foreign tourists) is greater than that of newspaper publicity. The recommendation of travel agencies is also a factor that cannot be ignored. Most tourists who go to Ape King Cave in Chongqing are recommended by travel agencies. The reason is that the preferential policies of Ape King Cave have stimulated the travel agencies in Chongqing to encourage tourists to travel to Ape King Cave. This is worth learning from other scenic spots and governments in Mianyang.
Tourists who know Mianyang through the Internet account for 12.88%, which is a way that cannot be ignored, because in fact, the investment in Mianyang tourism is very low. If we increase investment, more people will know about Mianyang tourism through the internet.
III. Countermeasures and Suggestions
1, tourism accessibility.
Improve Mianyang tourism inner ring road as soon as possible. Connect provincial highway 302 to get through the tourist traffic from Zitong to Jiangyou. On the basis of existing roads, get through the tourist traffic from Jiangyou to Beichuan and then to Anxian. Finally, the main tourist attractions in Mianyang will form a loop.
Open a through train from downtown to scenic spots. Establish a coordination mechanism for railway passenger transport. It is suggested that the government should come forward and organize joint meetings of railway, tourism authorities and travel agencies on a regular basis, and work with all parties to work out ways to solve the problem of foreign tourists buying return train tickets, especially in the special stage when a large number of tourists come to Mian for tourism, such as the Spring Festival, May Day and Golden Week, to further implement special measures and truly establish a long-term mechanism to deal with such problems.
2. Scenic spot construction and product development
Continue to strengthen the planning and construction of the six scenic spots and speed up the project development. Cultural tourist attractions such as Li Bai's hometown should strengthen the development and construction of cultural tourism projects, organize colorful cultural and entertainment projects, and let tourists feel the cultural atmosphere and the fun of participation. Qianfo Mountain, Wang Lang, Qiqu Mountain and other scenic spots should strengthen project planning, increase project investment or attract foreign investment.
The city's tourism industry should further intensify product innovation and develop newer and more attractive tourism products. All scenic spots should further strengthen participation and culture. Festival tourism and exhibition tourism should strengthen market operation, attract private capital to participate, let festival exhibition tourists participate, commercialize and regularize, and gradually cultivate and develop Mianyang's festival exhibition tourism industry. It is necessary to highlight the characteristics of science and technology city, innovate tourism products of science and technology city, and carry out tourism activities such as summer camp of science and technology city. Encourage travel agencies to develop Mianyang tourist route products.
3. Tourism management.

Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and Hong Kong, as the strongholds of our city to fully expand domestic and foreign markets, should continue to strengthen publicity and promotion. For other parts of the province, we should do a good job in the promotion of Mianyang's one-day tour and two-day tour.
Improve publicity and promotion methods. Continue to carry out national tourism publicity and attach importance to the tourism publicity of Mianyang citizens. Increase publicity investment in the use of the Internet. Through financial incentives and other policy measures, stimulate travel agencies inside and outside the province to promote Mianyang tourism.
