What's the difference between scenery and scenic spots?

Scenery and scenic spots are two different concepts, which have different meanings and definitions in the tourism industry.

Landscape refers to the scenery that people can see in a certain area, which is formed by landscapes, flowers, trees, buildings and some natural phenomena (such as rain and snow). It is a broad concept, including natural landscape and human landscape. For example, natural elements such as mountains and rivers, forests, lakes, waterfalls, beaches, wild animals and plants, and humanistic elements such as historical sites, cultural sites and urban landscapes all belong to the category of scenery.

Scenic spot is a place where the landscape layout is concentrated and an important part of tourism resources. Scenic spots can be natural landscapes or human landscapes, but they must have certain tourism value and attraction. A scenic spot is usually a unique and attractive place, such as natural wonders, historical sites, museums, cultural centers, shopping malls and so on.

So the main difference between scenery and scenic spots lies in the different scope and emphasis. Landscape pays more attention to natural and macroscopic scenes, while scenic spots pay more attention to artificial or characteristic landscapes.
