Hainan is in the stage of four leisure times.

The four periods of leisure in Hainan are germination, early stage, middle stage and late stage.

1. budding stage (1956- 1987): During this period, after the founding of People's Republic of China (PRC), New China was catching up, economic construction was being explored, and Hainan's tourism industry was also in the initial exploration stage.

2. Initial stage (1988- 199 1 year): 1988, Hainan established a provincial special economic zone, marking the fast lane of Hainan's economic construction. During this period, Hainan's tourism industry developed rapidly and became one of the important pillar industries of Hainan's economy.

3. Mid-term start (1992- 1997): During this period, Hainan's tourism industry continued to maintain a rapid development momentum and became one of the pillar industries of Hainan's economy.

4. Late initial stage (1998-2000): During this period, Hainan's tourism industry continued to maintain a rapid development momentum, but with the development of the national tourism industry, Hainan's tourism industry faced greater competitive pressure.
