Climate:

The Japanese archipelago is located at the junction of Eurasia and the Pacific Ocean, and the weather changes are very complex. Due to the long and narrow terrain from north to south, Japan's climate can be divided into three categories, and the corresponding tourist attractions are also different:

Hokkaido and Tohoku belong to the subarctic rainy climate zone. Sapporo in the Northeast has four distinct seasons. In early summer, lilacs and acacias bloom, and in winter, the entire city is covered in snow. In addition to the world-famous "Sapporo Snow Festival", you can also go to Jozankei Hot Spring Street to soak in hot springs, or experience the thrill of skiing in Okurayama.

The Honshu region basically belongs to the warm and humid climate zone. Whether you are at the Imperial Gardens or lakeside in Tokyo, or at the ancient temples or Maruyama Mountain in Kyoto, there is nothing better than enjoying cherry blossoms in spring or maple leaves in autumn.

Okinawa and Amami Oshima have a subtropical climate zone. Okinawa, located at the southernmost tip of the Japanese archipelago, has a rich Japanese fishing island style. The Okinawa Ocean Carnival, which is held from late March to late July every year, may be the longest festival in the world. When winter comes, cherry blossoms are blooming all over the island. Set against the blue sea, it is truly beautiful.

Spring (March-May)

The peach blossoms are blooming and spring is here. From the end of March to early April, it is mid-spring when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom. At this time, beautiful cherry blossoms are everywhere on the mountains, fields and gardens.

What to wear: A thin blouse or sweater is all you need during this season.

Summer (June-August)

Summer starts in June, with 3-4 weeks of rainy season. By July, it’s midsummer. During this season, Japanese people like to go to the beach to bathe in the sea, or go to the mountains to escape the heat. Japan has many festivals during the summer.

Wearing: Only thin clothes are enough (but because many places have air-conditioning equipment, it would be better if you prepare a jacket).

Autumn (September-November)

At this time, the woods are covered with red autumn leaves. In the park, the garden was suddenly filled with beautiful chrysanthemums. In the autumn there are many exhibitions and concerts, as well as sports competitions.

What to wear: A thin jacket or sweater is enough.

Winter (December to February)

The temperature is mostly above zero and the weather is dry. In the southern part of Japan, the climate is still comfortable and warm at this time.

Wearing: You need to wear coats and sweaters at this time.

Postal Communications

In principle, when sending letters from Japan to overseas, postcards cost 70 yen regardless of which country they are sent to. For envelopes, fixed-shaped items within 25g cost 90 to 130 yen, and items under 50g cost 160 to 230 yen. Mailing items other than fixed shapes cost 220 to 300 yen for items up to 50g, and 330 to 480 yen for items up to 100g. At the end of the address, the recipient's country name must be written in bold English and underlined. Small parcels within 100g are 190-290 yen, parcels within 500g are 750-1250 yen, parcels within 1kg are 1450-2450 yen, and parcels within 2kg are 2150-3650 yen. These are all airmail charges. Although ship mail takes more time, the cost is relatively cheap. When sending heavy luggage and the time required is not a concern, it is more economical to use ship mail. In addition, there are express mail services such as International Express Mail (EMS), and SAL, where the price and time required are between air mail and ship mail, so you can use them according to the purpose and use.

EMS (International Express Mail), for example: Osaka-Beijing, Osaka-Shanghai, 1kg = 1800 yen. The required time is 2 to 3 working days.
