The classic route from Guiyang to road trip around Hubei Province is from Guiyang to Shaoyang, Hunan Province, then from Shaoyang to Changsha, and finally from Changsha directly to Wuhan, Hubei Province.

It takes about 7 hours from Guiyang to Shaoyang. You can leave in the morning, go to Shaoyang in the afternoon and stay in a hotel in the city at night. The tourist time in Shaoyang can be arranged in 3-4 days, because the scenic spot in Shaoyang is far from the urban area, with the longest distance of 1 16 km.
