Jilin Rime
There are lush trees on both sides of the Songhua River in Jilin City. In winter, the fog in the river, which does not freeze, condenses into frost flowers on the trees when it encounters cold air. Meteorologists call it "fog" and local people call it "hanging tree". In the harsh winter of the twelfth lunar month, whenever there is fog, the green branches of weeping willows on the ten-mile long embankment turn into jade trees, crystal clear, and the mist fills the embankment, making people feel like they are in a fairyland. Wusong in Jilin, landscapes in Guilin, Stone Forest in Yunnan, and the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River are collectively known as China's four natural wonders.
