What to do in Dali for two days?
If it is your first time to Dali, here is what you do:
First day:
1. If you arrive in Dali by train , the train arrives at Dali Xiaguan around 7:00 in the morning. After exiting the train station, walk straight ahead and pass the Plateau Pearl Sculpture (a large spherical building) to Erhai Park, about one kilometer away. Erhai Park is one of the better places to view Erhai Lake and Cangshan Mountain.
2. Afterwards, take a cruise on Erhai Lake, mainly touring Erhai Lake. Take a cruise on Erhai Lake, including Nanzhao Customs Island, Xiao Putuo, etc. You can choose to return to the original pier, or get off at Caicun Pier in Dali Ancient Town. 3. After disembarking at Caicun Pier, take bus C2 directly to Dali Ancient City and get off at Yu'er Road or Cangshan Gate. There are many inns there and there is a lot of choice. It is the off-season for tourism, so it is a standard The room is about 50 yuan. After settling in, you can go to Cangshan Gate in Dali and take the Chongsheng Temple special bus or bus No. 19 to Chongsheng Temple. Of course, you can also walk there, which is about 1 km. Chongsheng Temple is famous for its three pagodas, also known as the "Three Pagodas of Dali"; it is one of the famous pagodas in China. This temple was originally called Yingtian Guangfu Zen Temple, or Yingtian Xuefeng Zen Temple. Later generations regarded Chongsheng Temple as the birthplace of Yunmen Sect and Fayan Sect of Zen. In the third year of the Taiping and Xingguo reign of the Song Dynasty (978), the temple was named Xuefeng Chongsheng Zen Temple, which is still in use today. During the Anti-Japanese War, it was destroyed by the Japanese army and the temple was almost in ruins. Since 1979, the government has approved the restoration and opening of Chongsheng Temple as a Buddhist activity venue. Since 2002, Chongsheng Temple has been restored and rebuilt on a large scale. During the reconstruction, the essence of Dali's construction characteristics of the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties was combined. The planning and construction was carried out according to the three axes of primary and secondary, with eight stages, nine entrances and eleven levels. The entire antique building community covers an area of ??600 acres, with a construction area of ??600 acres. 21,000 square meters. The main tower of Dali's Three Pagodas is called Qianxun Pagoda. 4. The ancient city of Dali is not big, with a radius of only 2 kilometers. It is more interesting at night than during the day, and it gets dark later in Dali. Mainly visit Cangshan Mountain. Cangshan Mountain, also known as Diancang Mountain, is the main peak at the southern end of the Yunling Mountains. It faces the Erhai Lake to the east and the Heihui River to the west. It has 19 majestic peaks. The altitude is generally above 3,500 meters. The highest Malong Peak is 4,122 meters. In the past, There is snow all year round on the top of the mountain. You can still see snow occasionally in May, but you will not see it in June. Cangshan Mountain has 19 peaks and 18 streams. The stream flows from west to east and flows into Erhai Lake. Many landscapes full of Bai cultural characteristics are located at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, such as the famous Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple, Fotu Pagoda, Wuwei Temple, Zhonghe Temple, Jiulong Female Pool, Three Pools of Qingbi Temple, Gantong Temple, etc.
You take bus No. 4 in the ancient city of Dali to the foot of Guanyintang and visit Guanyintang. This temple is very famous and the Dali Buddhist Association is located there. There is a Zhangjia Garden next to it. It is newly built and is not recommended. After that, take a van (also a black van, but safe, and the drivers are all locals. You can buy ropeway tickets from the driver, which is cheaper because it is discounted for locals) to Gantong Temple. Afterwards, take the Gantong Cableway up to Cangshan Mountain and play along Yudai Road. This is the best scenic road to view Cangshan and Erhai Lake. Then get off the Cangshan Cableway (there are three cableways in Cangshan Mountain, from south to north they are Gantong Cableway, Cangshan Cableway and Zhonghe Temple Cableway). If you are very interested, you can take the Cangshan Cableway to Ximatan at the top of the mountain to have a look. There is the highest peak of Cangshan Mountain. After coming down from Cangshan Cableway, you can visit Tianlong Babu Film and Television City. There is also a pagoda temple under the Tianlong Babu Film and Television City. If you are strong enough, you can go and visit it. The shape of this pagoda is the same as the Qianxun Pagoda, the main pagoda of Dali's Three Pagodas, but there is only one pagoda, so it is called "Yita Temple". The formal name is "Hongsheng Temple", which is now relatively desolate and peaceful. Then take a taxi or walk back to Dali Ancient City.
If you want to leave Dali, take bus No. 8, which will go directly to Dali Railway Station. There are trains to Kunming and Lijiang before 22:00 that night.
