Introduction to Meiyuan Attractions

Meiyuan scenic spots are introduced as follows:

Meiyuan generally refers to Meiyuan Hengshan Scenic Area, located in Dongshan, Hushan and Hengshan in the western suburbs of Wuxi City. Facing the vast Taihu Lake, backed by the nine peaks of Longshan Mountain, it is 7 kilometers away from the urban area and 1.5 kilometers away from Taihu Lake. Plum trees are planted all over the park, making it one of the famous plum-appreciating resorts in the south of the Yangtze River. It is a national AAAA tourist attraction, a national key cultural relics protection unit, and a national key park.

According to the height of the terrain and the characteristics of the plum garden, the garden designers decorate the mountains with plums and plant plums against the mountains. There are more than 5,500 plum trees planted in the garden, with a wide variety of varieties. There are also scenic spots in the park that can be climbed step by step, such as Tianxin Terrace, Xixin Spring, Qingfenxuan, and Zhaohe Pavilion.

1. Nianjuan Pagoda

Nianjuan Pagoda is the finishing touch of Meiyuan and also the landmark building of Meiyuan. The three-story octagonal tower, 18 meters high, was built in 1930. It is a memorial building built by brothers Rong Zongjing and Rong Desheng for their mother, Mrs. Shi Tai, in memory of their parents' nurturing grace.

2. Huaxi Scenic Area

Huaxi Scenic Area has introduced more than 100 varieties of exotic flowers, and has a huge rock landscape, with green trees and huge shades alternating with abrupt boulders and flowing water. In the meantime, the blue sky and white clouds are reflected, blending with the mountains.

3. Yanquan

During the excavation of Yanquan in 1914, an ancient inkstone was excavated, with the four characters "Wenguang Shedou" printed on the back. Mr. Rong Desheng named it "Inkstone". spring". Because the words "yan" and "yan" are similar in ancient Chinese, the name of the spring in seal script was "yanquan".

4. Xixinquan

It was dug in 1916. Mr. Rong Desheng specially named it "Xixinquan", which means "washing things will make them clean, and washing the heart will make them pure." "In 1983, it was dredged again, stones were added to the spring, and the famous plum blossom expert Professor Chen Junyu renamed the spring.

5. Tianxin Terrace

Tianxin Terrace was built in 1914, which originated from the meaning of "every plum blossom is the heart of heaven". In front of the stage stands the three-peak Taihu Stone, which resembles the three characters "Fu, Lu, Longevity", so it is called "Three-Star Stone".
