Map of the last years of Eastern Han Dynasty
At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, warlords became independent and scuffled with each other. At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, land annexation intensified, and landlords had their own private forces. Coupled with the darkness of central politics, weak imperial power and excessive decentralization of local governments, it led to a separatist situation. These separatist forces have different rising processes and development veins, reflecting the pluralistic face of that turbulent era.
Due to the political darkness of the central government, ten officials in the ruling and opposition parties are rampant, and the control over local areas is getting weaker and weaker, which leads to the increasingly serious problem of land merger. The people suffered the bitter fruit of this phenomenon, and under the double blow of natural disasters and plagues, they rose up in succession and launched a large-scale rebellion, the most famous of which was the Yellow Scarf Uprising.
Extended data:
At the end of the Eastern Han Dynasty, the emperor existed in name only. The real power is in the hands of eunuchs and relatives of the emperor. With the support of the emperor, they plundered the land and property of the people, arranged cronies in the court to confuse right and wrong, and held power in their own hands from top to bottom.
The reason for the party struggle was that the resistance of the literati caused great dissatisfaction among the eunuchs. Especially after the scholar-officials won the support of many incorruptible people and ordinary people, the eunuchs who became angry from embarrassment slandered them from time to time in front of the emperor, classified them as "henchmen" and imposed severe sanctions, and even directly suppressed them on trumped-up charges such as conspiracy, resulting in two henchmen accidents.
The disaster of the same party fighting against differences hurt the foundation of the Han Dynasty, and laid the groundwork for the Yellow Scarf Uprising and the ultimate demise of the Han Dynasty.
