The development of history

1April, 950, Hefei followed the instructions of the Northern Anhui Administrative Office, and the management authority of the station police station was transferred to the newly established Hefei Station. The jurisdiction of this area: Hefei section of Huainan Railway in the east, Dongchengmen in the old city of Hefei in the west, Leidaying in the suburbs in the south and Liudaying in front of Hefei old railway station in the north.

1960, the district was reorganized into Dongshi District People's Commune on June 5 of that year, and now it has jurisdiction over 8 branches including Lisan Street, Heping Road, Shengli Road, Dongfanghong, Huachong, Daxing Ji, Mingguang Road and Hong Guang.

1968 May 18, the People's Commune of Dongshi District was abolished and the People's Government of Dongshi District was established. On September 3 of that year, all the branches under the jurisdiction of Dongshi District People's Commune were abolished and changed to 18 Street Committee. Six of them are residential streets in the factory area. In June of the same year, the 2 1 agricultural and vegetable brigade under the jurisdiction of this district was designated as a suburb.

In March 2002, the division of Hefei City was adjusted, and the district was renamed Yaohai District of Hefei City.
