On August 16, 2018, it was learned from the 2018 Shanghai Tourism Festival Organizing Committee Working Meeting held by the Shanghai Municipal Government that this year’s Shanghai Tourism Festival will be held from September 15 to October 6. During the period, there will be 74 activities to invite tourists to participate. From September 15th to 21st, a half-price discount for attraction tickets will be launched. Huangpu River Tour and Shanghai Disneyland will join the tourism festival to benefit the people for the first time.

This year’s opening parade included overseas performance groups from 26 countries and regions, among which performance groups from Ecuador and Peru made their first appearance at the Shanghai Tourism Festival. At the same time, 25 floats will participate in this year's parade, among which floats from the European Union, Quebec in Canada, Nantou in Taiwan, Wenshan in Yunnan, and Haichang Ocean World will come to Shanghai for the first time to participate in the parade. The closing ceremony will be held in Disneytown on the evening of October 6th.

Activities that benefit the people have become a symbol of the Shanghai Tourism Festival.
