Allusions and travel strategies of Baoen Temple Tower in Suzhou
It has a longer history than Hanshan Temple and is the oldest temple in Suzhou. It was built in the Red Wu period of the Three Kingdoms (238-25 1 year) and has a history of more than 700 years. According to historical records, Sun Quan was founded by wet nurse Chen, formerly known as Temple. In the early Tang Dynasty, it was renamed Kaiyuan Temple and later Hongzhi.
Compared with the tourists in Hanshan Temple, the tranquility and beauty here are different, and ducks are discovered by accident. After visiting Pingjiang Road Pedestrian Street, I called a rickshaw and took it to the nearest subway station. The master pulled me directly to the subway entrance of the North Temple Tower, got off the bus and saw this tower, so I decided to go in and have a look. This Hoonji, the North Tower, which is rarely mentioned in Suzhou's major travel guides, is eye-catching. I have to think that Suzhou, an ancient city, is really rich in history, like a rickshaw that I haven't seen in other cities for a long time. You can also experience it here.
The North Temple Tower, which is not so well-known to tourists, namely Hoonji, actually occupies a very high position in the hearts of Suzhou people. After coming out of the North Temple Tower, I asked some friends in Suzhou. When they heard that I went to the North Temple Tower, they replied that you finally went to the most Suzhou place in Suzhou people's hearts.
In fact, Hoonji is hung on the forehead of the gate of the North Temple Tower, but most people in Suzhou call it the North Temple Tower, which is named because it is located in the north of the ancient city of Suzhou. The most conspicuous thing is this tower. Even the subway station is named after the "North Temple Tower".
Hoonji, according to legend, was built by Sun Quan, the overlord of the Three Kingdoms, to repay his mother's kindness. The rise and fall of thousands of years has always been the highest point in Suzhou. It stood there in the "misty rain" of the Southern Dynasties. At that time, it was only 1 1 storey high, but it was later burned down. During the Yuanfeng period of the Northern Song Dynasty (1078- 1085), the Baoen Temple Tower was rebuilt into a nine-story octagonal tower, but it was built in the fourth year of Shaoxing in the early Southern Song Dynasty (65438) and in the twenty-third year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1 153). During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Hoonji Pagoda was repaired many times.
Compared with most scenic spots in Suzhou, tickets are quite high, such as Humble Administrator's Garden 70 yuan, Tiger Hill and Honghu 60 yuan, all of which are free. The order of the visit is to enter through the door on the left and exit through the door on the right. The first thing I saw was a smiling Maitreya Buddha. Maitreya Buddha, also known as the Buddha of the future, often takes the bag monk as the prototype, bares his chest and breasts, and smiles (or has a big belly). In Buddhism, as a kind of expressive education, it means "a large quantity is a blessing", reminding the world to learn tolerance. Among them, the big belly can accommodate things that are difficult to accommodate in the world; Open your mouth and laugh at the ridiculous people in the world. That smile seems to have a kind of magic, washing the soul and seeing more luxurious temples. This simple arrangement is very new.
Behind Maitreya is the North Temple Tower. You are not allowed to visit this tower now. A little disappointed, but understandable. After all, if anyone can go up, it will be even more difficult to protect cultural relics. According to local friends in Suzhou, the tower overlooks the whole city of Suzhou, with a panoramic view of the gardens and the charm of the ancient city. You can only think about that scene.
Walk three times clockwise around the tower and then continue inside. There is a small door called "Meiyuan", which is highly recommended. I didn't expect a small Soviet-style garden to be hidden in this quiet temple. Rockery, ponds, pavilions, stone bridges, flowers and trees are considered to be more interesting than those famous big gardens such as Humble Administrator's Garden and Lion Forest, and they have a dusty temperament, few tourists and a poetic flavor.
I was really stunned for a moment. I was so greedy for the beautiful scenery in front of me that I couldn't move at all.
Before Meipu was Nanmu guanyin temple, which was rebuilt in the forty years of Wanli in Ming Dynasty. It is the most complete Ming Dynasty ancient building in Suzhou. There is a long corridor in the south of Kannonji, which displays the largest huge Qi Diao's "The Prosperous Age Pregnancy Map" in China, also known as "The Prosperous Age Map of Gusu". The picture is 32 meters long and 2 meters high, which reproduces the prosperity of Suzhou in the Qing Dynasty.
On the guanyin temple side, there is also a rare stone carving work in Yuan Dynasty-Zhang Shicheng memorial tablet. This stone tablet is said to have been erected by Shen Wansan, a rich man in the south of the Yangtze River at the end of Yuan Dynasty. It is engraved with the scene of Zheng Zheng's nineteenth year, when Zhang Shicheng greeted Bo Yan, the envoy of the Yuan Dynasty. It adopts deep relief technique, fine carving, rigorous composition, clear architectural layout, distinct levels, clear faces, different postures and smooth pleats, and is the top stone carving art of Yuan Dynasty with historical value. It is also rare in China to erect such a monument to the last defeated king in history.
There are seven Buddhist temples here, and there are more than 20,000 temples in China. It is said that only three are dedicated to seven buddha. "seven buddha" refers to Sakyamuni Buddha and the six Buddhas that appeared before him, namely, there is no corpse abandoned Buddha in the south, no sun Buddha in the south, no Gaya Buddha in the south, no Sakyamuni Buddha in the south, no Nasmani Buddha in the south, no floating Buddha in Vishnu in the south and no corpse Buddha in Vishnu in the south.
Finally, I walked out of the temple through the long corridor and felt like I was back in the bustling world. Unconsciously, I stayed in Hoonji for 2 hours. Only then can we deeply understand why this is the soul of old Suzhou, not only because of the height of the North Temple Tower, but also because of its inherent quietness and ancient charm. I think this is the most attractive place in the ancient city of Suzhou.
The most "Suzhou" place in Suzhou people's hearts is the only commanding height in the city, which is longer than Hanshan Temple. Tourists are scarce and tickets are free!
