Do I need a visa to go to Vietnam?
For Chinese citizens, traveling to Vietnam requires obtaining a visa in advance. The good news is that there are now electronic visa options available. If you plan to travel personally, it is recommended to apply for a single tourist visa, which is only valid for 30 days. Typically, it takes approximately 5 working days to process this application. When applying, the valid documents you need to prepare include: original passport, which must be valid for at least 6 months before entry, and two two-inch color photos.
It is worth noting that Vietnam visa calculations are different from many other countries. The validity period of a visa is calculated from the date of issuance. Even if your actual entry date is earlier than the visa expiration date, you still need to leave the country on the last day specified in the visa. For example, if your visa is valid from January 1st to January 30th, even if you enter Vietnam on January 28th, you must end your journey on January 30th. Therefore, be sure to consider this when planning your trip and ensure you comply with Vietnam’s entry regulations.
