The history of Ulanqab

During the Warring States Period, most of the Ulanqab area was the territory of Zhao and the Huns. After the Qin Dynasty merged with the Six Kingdoms, the three counties of Yunzhong, Daijun and Yanmen were established in the original Zhao area. After the fall of Qin, the Xiongnu took advantage of the Central Plains to ban the conflict between Chu and Han. They had no time to take advantage of it and marched southward. Most of the area here was occupied by the Xiongnu.

During the Western Han Dynasty, the Xiongnu established the highest government agency in the Siziwang Banner of Ulanqab City, the Central Chan Yuting. On the eve of the Northern Wei Dynasty, Tuoba and Xianbei established the northern capital in Shengle (Hohhot and Lingeer Tucheng), established the power of the Dai Dynasty, and continued to occupy the Xiongnu's homeland.

During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, the Turks built Dali City to administer the territory of present-day Horinger.

From the Song Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty, this was the place where the northern minority groups of Khitan, Jurchen, Tatar, Oara and Mongolia lived one after another.

From 1627 to 1636 (the Tiancong period of the Qing Dynasty), it was officially named the Ulanqab League. In 1633 AD (the sixth year of Tiancong in the Qing Dynasty), six tribes including the Siziwang tribe, the three front, middle and back Urad banners, the Maoming'an tribe, and the right-wing tribe of Khalkha (i.e. Darhan Banner) gathered in Uzbekistan for the first time. Lanqab, so it is called the Ulanqab League. Fengzhen and other places now under the jurisdiction of the Ulanqab League were under the jurisdiction of the "Kouwai Qiting" as early as 1736 to 1796 (Qianlong period). From 1875 to 1908 (Guangxu period), the Siziwang tribe and part of the reclaimed land and villages in Darhan were designated as Xinghe Hall; the eastern boundary of Feng Town from Lujiaying and other places to the Jiuzuo territory of Chayouzhenghuang Banner was designated as Xinghe Hall Hall; set up the Huiteng villages in the far boundary of Ning and the two adjacent banners of Zhenghuang and Zhenghong on the right are Taolin Hall, etc.

After the establishment of the Republic of China, all departments were changed to county governments.

In 1914 (the third year of the Republic of China), the Suiyuan Special District was established, with Guisui under its jurisdiction (in 1912, the Suiyuan City Grain and Rating Office was merged into the former Naturalization Department, and it was originally called Guisui County) , Saraqi, Toktuo, Horinger, Qingshuihe, Wuchuan, Wuyuan, Dongsheng and other eight counties, Uzbekistan, Yi League (13 banners) and Tumut Banner. The original four counties in Suidong (Fengzhen, Xinghe, Taolin, and Liangcheng) were placed under the Chahar Special Zone.

In 1928 (the 17th year of the Republic of China), the special zone was renamed Suiyuan Province. At that time, Daocun County was abolished, and Dongsi County was transferred from Chahar Province to Suiyuan Province, together with the 12th year of the Republic of China. The five additional counties of Baotou, Jining, Anbei, Guyang, and Linhe, and a total of 17 counties are all under the jurisdiction of Suiyuan Province.

After the liberation of Suiyuan Province in 1949, the province was adjusted into four commissioner offices, two leagues, one central flag, and one provincial flag. Among them, the Jining Commissioner's Office has jurisdiction over 6 counties: Jining, Fengzhen, Taolin, Longsheng, Wuchuan and Xinghe; the Helin Commissioner's Office has jurisdiction over 4 counties: Helin, Qingshuihe, Tuoketuo and Liangcheng; Ulanqab The alliance has jurisdiction over six banners: Siziwang Banner, Darhan, Maoming'an, Zhonggong, Donggong and Xigong Banners. After the founding of New China, the Ulanqab League governed six banners: Siziwang, Darhan, Maoming'an, Urad Front Banner, Chahar Right Wing Middle Banner, and Chahar Right Back Banner.

In 1958, with the approval of the State Council, the Pingdiquan Administrative District was abolished and the area under its jurisdiction was under the jurisdiction of the Ulanqab League. At the same time, the Ulanqab League's original jurisdiction over the Urad Front Banner and the Urad Middle and Back United Banners were placed under the jurisdiction of the Bayannur League. In the same year, the organs of the Ulanqab League moved from Guyang to Jining. At this time, the Ulanqab League had jurisdiction over: 1 city, 6 banners, 11 counties and 18 county-level areas, namely Jining City, Darhan Maoming'an United Banner, Siziwang Banner, Tumut Banner, Chahar Right Front Banner, Chahar Right Back Banner, Chahar Right Middle Banner, Fengzhen County, Liangcheng County, Horinger County, Qingshuihe County, Wuchuan County, Zhuozi County, Xinghe County, Tuoktuo County county. Saraqi County, Guyang County, Wudong County. After that, Wudong County and Tumed Banner were abolished, Tumed Left Banner and Tumed Right Banner were established and separated, Shangdu County and Huade County were added, Guyang County, Sunit Right Banner, and Erenhot City In and out, Feng Town was removed from the county and established as a city. From 1995 to 1996, Helin County, Qingshuihe County, and Wuchuan County were placed under the jurisdiction of Hohhot City, and the Darhan Maoming'an United Banner was placed under the jurisdiction of Baotou City.

On December 1, 2003, the Ulanqab League and the county-level Jining City were abolished, and the prefecture-level Ulanqab City was established. The Municipal People's Government is located in the newly established Chahar East Street, Jining District. Jining District was established in Ulanqab City. The administrative area of ??the original county-level Jining City is the administrative area of ??Jining District. Ulanqab City governs the Siziwang Banner, Chahar Right Front Banner, Chahar Right Back Banner, Chahar Right Middle Banner, Huade County, Shangdu County, Xinghe County, and Zhuozi County of the former Ulanqab League. , Liangcheng County and the newly established Jining District. The county-level Fengzhen City of the former Ulanqab League was directly under the jurisdiction of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
