What are the big temples in Beijing?
Located at the southern foot of Luohong, 5 kilometers north of Huairou District, Beijing, 55 kilometers away from Beijing, with a total area of 800 hectares, it is a national AAAA-level tourist area.
Hongluo Temple was founded in the fourth year of Xiankang in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (AD 338), originally named as "daming temple" (renamed as "Fugu Temple for Protecting the Country" in the Ming Dynasty, commonly known as "Hongluo Temple" because of the wonderful legend of Hongluo Fairy).
Hongluo Temple, facing south, is built according to the mountain situation, with strict layout and magnificent momentum. It is backed by Luohong, facing Luohong Lake in the south, surrounded by mountains and waters, with lush trees and towering old trees. Hongluo Temple is located in the lush ancient pine forest in front of Luohong Mountain, which constitutes a beautiful picture of "Bibo Tibetan Ancient Temple".
2. Dazhong Temple
Dazhong Temple was formerly known as Juesheng Temple. Located on the north side of Lenovo Bridge in the North Third Ring Road, Haidian District, it was built in the 11th year of Qing Yongzheng (1733). Dazhong Temple, originally a royal Buddhist temple, was converted into an ancient clock museum at 1985. More than 400 Chinese and foreign ancient clocks were exhibited in the museum.
1996, Dazhong Temple was listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit by the people of China and the State Council, and officially became a national key cultural relics protection unit.
3. Baiyun Temple
Baiyunguan is located in Baiyunguan Street outside Xibianmen, Xicheng District, Beijing. Founded in the Tang Dynasty, it is a sacred place for Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty to worship Laozi, and is famous for observing the ages. After the introduction of Jin Shizong, it was expanded on a large scale, renamed as Shifang Tianchang Temple, and rebuilt as Taiji Palace at the end of Jin Dynasty.
There are a large number of precious cultural relics in Baiyun Temple, the most famous of which are the "Three Treasures": the collection of orthodox Taoist temples in Ming Dynasty, the statue of Laozi carved in Tang Dynasty, the stone carving of Tao Te Ching by Zhao Mengfu, a great calligrapher in Yuan Dynasty, and the inscription of Jing.
4. Zhenwu Temple
It is located in Fozizhuang Town, Fangshan District (62km from the center of Beijing). Founded in the Ming Dynasty, it has a history of more than 500 years. Zhenwu Temple consists of three courtyards and two halls dedicated to Emperor Zhenwu and Bi Xia Yuan Jun respectively.
There are four annex halls, two annex buildings, two annex buildings and more than a dozen mountain houses, with a total construction area of 3000 square meters. Zhenwu Temple is the center temple of dozens of bell towers and villages in Fiona Fang. It is famous for its incense. Because the Taoist temple is very spiritual, the main hall is dedicated to the Zhenwu Emperor, which is called "Little Wudang" in the north by Taoism.
5. Biyun Temple
Located in the north of Xiangshan Park in Haidian District, Beijing, at the foot of Jubaoshan Mountain, the remaining vein of Xishan Mountain, it is a group of compact and well-preserved garden-style temples. It was founded in the second year of Yuan Dynasty (133 1) and expanded in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
The temple sits west facing east and is built on the mountain. The layout of the whole temple is mainly arranged in Liu Jin Courtyard, with a group of courtyards in the north and south. The courtyard adopts its own closed building technology, and the halls overlap with the mountains, forming a special layout of more than 300 steps.
