Nanyang Cultural Relics Protection Institute is located in Jiangxi section of Nanyang Mayor. Originally Nanyang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, 1976 was established as Nanyang Cultural Relics Task Force. In June 1997,/kloc-0 was renamed Nanyang Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology. In October 2023,/kloc-0 was merged with Nanyang Institute of Ancient Architecture Protection and renamed Nanyang Institute of Cultural Relics Protection. It is managed by Nanyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Film and Television Tourism and subsidized by the whole people. Undertake the tasks of archaeological investigation, exploration, excavation, cultural relics protection, ancient architecture protection and cultural relics research in Nanyang City, and be responsible for the operational guidance of the cultural relics departments of counties (districts) under the jurisdiction of Nanyang City.

The Institute has a comprehensive office building of more than 3,000 square meters, a cultural relic warehouse of 1.200 square meters, a reference room with more than 5,000 books, and a provincial-level archives room. In addition, it is equipped with a professional painting studio and a photography studio. More than 500,000 yuan was invested to install secondary risk equipment, so that the safety of cultural relics can meet the standard of "combining civil air defense, physical defense and technical defense".
