Mount Tai

One of the Five Mountains in China (Mount Tai, Mount Huashan, Mount Heng, Mount Song, and Mount Heng). It is located in the middle of Shandong Province, east of the Beijing-Shanghai Railway, stretching between Jinan, Tai'an, Changqing and other cities and counties. It was called Daishan and Daizong in ancient times, and it was called Taishan from the Spring and Autumn Period. Because it is located in eastern China, it is called Dongyue. The ancients regarded the east as the place where all things change and the first spring occurs. Therefore, Mount Tai in Dongyue is known as "the most powerful among the five mountains". Mount Tai was formed in the Archaean Eon, about 2.5 billion years ago. It is a fault-block mountainous area composed of gneiss. The mountains are majestic, the scenery is spectacular, and there are many places of interest. The total area is 426 square kilometers, with the main peak Tianzhu Peak at an altitude of 1,524 meters.
